Guest | I can make new units just fine, and I know how to make heroes based off the original heroes. But how do I either: Create a NEW custom HERO, based off a non-hero unit. I know I could just change the model and stuff of the hero, but he would have the wrong voice. OR, how can I turn an existing unit into a hero? Btw, I'm using enhanced editor, in case that matters. |

I haven't got the enhanced version up yet... but I know you can't do it in the normal version. |

Base it off a hero like normal, and then hex edit the four letter code in the .w3u file to the unit whose sounds you want. Somebody ought to post a tutorial that goes step by step on how to do this.... |

Yeah, because I have no idea what a hex edit is... |

Hmm it works with units who don't have abilities to give them abilities but I've had no sucess on heros. I think heros have to be specific codes to work. You should be able to add all there sounds to the mpq. Aparently Cookie said it really would of been easy to add a line to some slk that makes in worldedit to choose sounds but it makes you imcompatible (can you say feature in Xpansion) |

Guest | There really needs to be an option in the unit editor to select what type of unit it is, then change it accordingly. This would be so much easier.....and the sound editor doesn't really do much, heh. You can't change the unit sounds with it, which is what I'd think the main point of it would be....... |

Guest | Hi first time poster, I was going to post a topic exactly like this but I decided to look for a similar thread and found this. Anyway, in making new heros I also could not find a way to limit the creation of the hero to just one at the alter, meaning I could create an army of my custom hero! Does anyone know how to correct this? |
