Alrite heres the deal I wanna make a mod. Its gonna be a time travelling thing, and Im NOT copying Time Mod, I thought this up after playin Chrono Trigger for SNES. Alrite, Im not gonna tell u much but, it will have a campaign where u play as each race through out time to stop something terrible from happening in the future. The times will be Future/Midievil/Ancient/Prehistoric. Each race will have new models, skins and spells. Each unit will be balanced and equiped with an arsenal of abilities as many spells for each unit as is reasonable. Most creeps will be edited, they will be replaced with things like mammoths, Giants, Demons, Elementals, and robitic futuristic crap too! Thats all Ill say cuz if I do end up in this project Ill want to keep the story mostly secret till the relase. The problem is I dont know shit about modding for War3. I have a few programs(Most dont work) and I tried to learn from tutorials, but they dont help me, I need sumone to explain stuff to me where I can ask questions and crap.


So uh... if anyone wants to teach me how to make mods(Im a fast learner I swear!)

If anyone wants to take my Idea, thats cool(I have the whole story just about)

Hate to say this, but nowadays you have to bring ALOT to a group in order to design your own projects. Nobody is going to work for someone who knows nothing about War3, since the employees will be doing everything.

Also, copying or not, this is alot like Time Mod and nobody would rather join your version than the official.

In other words, start small, make a TD or something, and learn the WE. I never used any tutorials, I just experimented alot, and that's what you should do.

i agree with insaniteus. I learned the WE the same way, only i never sunk so low as to make a td map. But experimentinf small is the best way to go.

what your asking is BS youll need to do something yourself.

I need someoen to teach me how to do it myself, Im sick of figuring crap out on my own, I spent mad time learning to Mod for StarCraft, then War3 comes out, and I dont wanna learn a whole new modding system. Tutorials dont help because I cant find the programs they need, and the ones I can find dont work, I need somebody to help me out

well okay. I will help as best i can. First of all, what do you already know how to do in war3?

Um... U mean Modding right? If u talkin about mapping I know a bit, I havnt done much, but everything Ive tried to do I succeeded, u know Dialog things, cinematics that crap, but modding I dont know much... well, it doesnt seem like I need to know too much, I just need programs and a quick explanation of how to work it.

main thing i know is triggers. I am not good at modeling or skinning.

Oh... Well, you know how to model and skin right? Or atleast model, If I know how to do that, I should be able to find sum skinners, there seem to be plenty out here.

no i cant model, but i can skin a little. I know how to do it at least, if thats what youre asking.

yeah. you hafta extract the skin from war3 with the war3 image extractor and then u edit it in photoshop and import it back into the game.

Hm... 2 questions, 1 how do u import into game Ill want to put my stuff directly into maps, and 2, how do u skin custom things?

You suck, I know there is a tutorial section, they dont help, they tell u what to use, but not where to get them, and usually atleast one doesnt work, and I dont know what else I can use to replace it so Im stuck!
