Image Extractor "bug"

It cannot export to .blp when the image is not square, and that is really a problem when you're editing menu's and such rectangular objects.

Is there anything I can do about this? Or is there another tool for this that actually does work, and that also reads the other JPG-BLP format? If not, then menu editing is near impossible.

Nah, it's like this:

I have a 500x200 .blp, I convert it to .tga and it converts properly into a 500x200 .tga.

This far everything is fine, but when I'm going to convert it back into a .blp the program hangs and gives me an error message.

----

Run-time error '9':
Subscript out of range

-----

Well, that says nothing to me.. maybe I'm doing something wrong.
The executable file resides in my WC3 directory, so it is not that.

Okay, but let's say I make the texture so that it is square instead.. and then convert it. Well, when I did that.. WarCraft 3 hanged itself at boot.

Help! :(

I can only tell you that the "Runtime Error 9: Subscript out of range" got something to to with the VB Runtime.
Anyway, I know no solution for this problem. The error also occurs when you do weird stuff with WinMPQ (which also uses VB Runtime).

Try to put it into another foler. I have it in a subdirectory of my Warcraft III directory.

If that doesn't work post into the "Important" thread about Image Extractor II. Maybe you get there an answer from DJBnJack.

Well, I've done that as well.. putting it in different dirs.. but on the other hand, that shouldn't help.. at least not when in a subdir.

A question, does it work for you? I mean.. making a non-square .tga into a .blp? If it does, then there's something strange with my setup.

I've contacted DJBnJack personally, but without any response.
I also asked about it in that thread, but the message never got any response there either and just dissappeared into the thread.

It have to do with palleted blp IMHO, which format isn't managed by WC3 image extractor. I've posted about this a long time ago, but DJBnJack seemed busy :(

exN: But no.. I just tried to convert it into a normal .blp, not a paletted one.. but sure, you're right - the menu system is consisting of mainly paletted .blp's.

If he won't work on it anymore, why can't he just release the code and let others help out the community?
