key commands

i want to use the keyboard to do some commands but i dont know how. you know the thing were you press a key like "A" and it will do something like bring up a help menu or move the unit

Option A: Detect it by a looking for when the player presses A for attack.
Option B: Keep a hero by a vendor, and an item to buy with the hotkey A. Keep the vendor selected, and detect for when the item is bought.
Option C: Use an outside program to detect it. There are none released yet, the FPS mod uses a private on though.

thanks but i was actually looking for the trigger command. you know. event, conditon, action. im pretty sure it has to do with if/then/else. srry should have made it clearer

thats the thing, there isnt a trigger command for if somebody pushes any key, the only key that there is a actualy event for is the ESC key and thats for the skipped cinimatic sequence...

other wise you need to do what random157 said

hmmm could some1 make a tutorial on just how to do this becus that would be kool. im trying to use key-commands to move (exp w=forward,s=back,a=go left...) that would be nice:D

One suggestion is to look at Dodge the Sheep the blizzard map how to detect orders (a ---attack, s -stop, esc, you could probalby detect more orders such as hold or what have you), or another is to find Mr123s WarKart map, its not locked and shows how to do it via items. The end result is not the greatest but you must due with what your given.

hmm i checked SOD and found just some variable and other things. im ok wit it so far its just man when i saw my brain probaly imploaded://// .

PS: i dont have WarKart but i do have SkyCraft but it tells me nothing. I was hoping for a small tutorial becuse when i saw SOD. i may be a great problam solver and such but lots of numbers scare me. no kid
