Guest | I was thinking of some differant maps/games that we should get together and build one of these days (I say 'we' because I have no chance of doing these myself:) ). 1) Madness Map/MTG: I remember back on Starcraft when every other Use Map Settings game was some sort of Madness. One of the most popular, and better made maps was Magic: The Gathering, made by Enigma. Now that War 3 is out, I think an MTG Revival should be inevitable, and WC3C should have its name plastered all over it. Plus, I understand, once you get the triggers and Unit Balancing done, the rest is cake! 2) Hero Defense: I just got done playing my first round of Tower D, and I've become somewhat of an avid Hero Arena player. I noticed that the Tower D had some Heros in it, but they were a very minor part of the whole scheme of things. I would like to see a version where you have to rely mostly on your Hero to protect your objective, and once you're able to build towers, you can't do it that quickly. Therefore, as the difficulty level goes up, so does the level of your hero. You should also be able to obtain multiple heros, for the sake of the game not getting overwhelming for one to do alone. 3) Betrayal: Ever play the board game 13 Dead End Drive? It was about 13 people in a race to reach the same goal before time ran out. Anyway, this would be something like that. You pick your hero, and go on some sort of 'Kill-stuff-only' RPG-like Adventure. And, although the players are against each other, they are on the same team, and you can move any of them, thus either taking your own unit out to gain the prize the fastest, or subtly having your enemies offed until you're the last one standing. The tricky parts would be making the Heros not be able to attack each other directly, and not being able to see who's unit is whos at all. Just thought I'd get these ideas out on the table so you guys can kick them around. |

Guest | I like the Betrayal idea a lot, there's quite a few things you can do with it. I remember in the Starcraft days I had a few ideas for RPG maps where generally you work together to complete goals, but greed would play a big part, and the RPG would totally support going against your team-mates. Just think, wandering off, turning off shared vision, and laying mines and traps in general to slow your enemy down while you take a different route to the objective. Of course there's so many issues to go over before even starting to create maps like that. |

there was a hero defense map during the beta but it never was very popular( I personally liked it quite a bit, it had some unique triggers to say the least) but there never was another version. |

Guest | I have an idea. We make warcraft into a starcraft game by using the hidden units. We could make like a marine madness or something. |

Guest | There are only 3 hidden Starcraft units, the Zergling, Hydralisk, and Orc Firebat. Edit - O ya, and Marine! |

A combination of TD and heroes where they each played an _equal_ part would be interesting. I have a few ideas I'm using in my Battledome map (still in beta, features to be added, bugs to be fixed, etc. but a few ppl on uswest have played it) that could also work on such a map, and if anyone's thinking of making one, e-mail me ([email protected]) or post a message on this thread :) |

Guest | there was a hero defence map out but it never got popular with betrayal.. i think u can change the color of units so that they all look the same but if you hold your mouse over a unit it always display the players name, i dont know how you can change that one |

If there are for example 5 players, have all the units belong to player6, a computer, and have 6 give everyone full shared unit control. Only specify which unit goes with each player in variables, and tell the player which guy he is at the opening of the map. |
