Greets, fellow map makers.

I have officially released the Beta version of my new map, Revenge of the Heros! By Warriv (me) and Baal.

http://forum.warcraftiii.net/maps.php?id=1857

In this Beta version, engage in combat with over 20 waves of enemies (more to come in future releases), including 3 devastatingly evil bosses, while on your quest to enact your perfect revenge against the hero that betrayed you!

FEATURES:

Survive through 20 swarms of enemies, including 3 Jaw-Dropping bosses

Purchase powerful items from shops, which will aide you and your friends in their survival

Blizzard Campaign-Quality cinematics (intro and in-game) which will leave you stunned

Dynamic difficulty levels which increase as more players join the game

Use special items such as the Gnomish Artillery Strike, which unleashes a barrage of devastation upon your enemies as you desparately try to survive

Experience a developed story-line which unfolds as the game progresses

Unique notification systems warn you when your friends need help

The enemies know who the weakest hero is, and will swarm that hero to enact Natural Selection!

Heros that die return as shadows, captured by the betrayer and ready to serve his will!

FEATURES FOR FUTURE RELEASES:

(These features are not included in the beta version--yet)

Engage in a vicious Hero Siege as the enemies swarm your home-town

Purchase Hirelings which will aide in the defense of the town

Battle numerous bosses on your way to the final fight

Survive numerous never-before-seen spells (over 10) which will be unleashed upon you by the last boss!

Again, you may download the map from warcraftiii.net by going to this link:

Developer's notes:

This map has been in the works for nearly 2 months now. I've tried to balance it as far as possible, but realize that not everything is perfect. Some items may be too expensive (no, I will NOT make tomes 1 Gold each!), yet others may be too cheap. Some monsters may be too weak, yet others too strong, etc.

I would GREATLY appreciate it if you would e-mail suggestions to [email protected], or post suggestions here on the forums.

Known bugs/issues:

Heros that die with a potion of greater invisibility may cause problems, the Shadows use the potions and disappear forever, causing the levels to stop working...

When players leave the game, their heros die, and the warning system activates. Sort of annoying (only briefly)...

Some players don't know what to do with the way-gate key once they get it, and hang on to it forever. IF YOU GET THE WAY-GATE KEY, CLICK ON IT! The game won't go on if you don't! =)

At the beginning of the game, Player 1 votes whether or not to watch the opening cinematic. If there is no player 1 (Red) the game will not start. The next beta release will feature a dialog-voting system, which will remedy that problem.

Unfortunately, the map is protected to prevent other versions from getting out, but if you want trigger ideas or suggestions, feel free to ask. There are a LOT of amazing never-before-seen effects in this map!

Have fun!

Shazbot! That's a nice map you have there. I loved the intro cinematic - very well done!

lol you stole the basics from another survival map :-)
still the terrain is ubercrappy and needs BADLY a beef

beside that, this map is very very very cool. The Intro is awesome (well, if you dont look at the crappy terrain) and the trigger and specialeffects are very cool.

I hope i can play the next version soon :-)

Sounds like something I'd read off the back of a professional game box.

Hehe, I didn't spend much time on the terrain outside the Cinematic areas and the main Arena place (yet).

But at least you don't think the terrain is uber gosu l337 crappy, hehe, just uber crappy :gsmile:

I just hope warcraftiii.net can get the link working. :(

It is; My friend (Baal) did the terrain and basically used the same idea, our map is built from scratch. He's really good with terrain and can pretty much copy any terrain from any map.

The only thing that is the same between this map and Survival Build 665 is the center arena.
