I posted this mail to Blizzard, and, as i've imaged they refuse it.
I don't want to modify the text. What i need (or you need) is clear by reading all the post.

"Hi Blizzard,

my name is Riccardo and i am an italian customer.
I write down this mail in order to let you know an idea i have had some
nights ago. It is simply little change but it could be a great news in
network games world and also a huge marketing business.
The idea is easy, but cool and interesting: you have always done incredible
campaign settings and now you are the best way to play on-line with
battle.net. So, why don't you use these features toghether? Why don't you
create the first multi-player campagin?
Let me explain what i mean. A lot of players doing the last maps of war3
campaign have thought: "I would have liked to modify the story, to have a
chance to avenge my fovourite reace or hero..."
This dream could become reality very simply, adding a third session of Bnet
after customs and ladders, the campaign maps. These are very special map
with triggers and heroes (also from the single player story) that are
released for occasional events and if played "officially" (I mean with
observer from you) CAN DECIDE THE FUTURE OF WARCRAFT 3 WORLD.
So, for example, the humans and orcs want to come back home on Lordaeron and
defeat the Scourge, trying to conquer at least a little piece of the coast
(2human+2orc VS 4 Undead). You are able, with this method, to write a
variable plot that describes the consequences of every battle (in both of
possible cases).
Ence you allow players to build up the virtual History of War3 through
virtual battles on Bnet.
There are several ideas and options such as special dedicated chat for
diplomacy and alliances or sites where are reported the news about the great
war and so on. You could also insert the already played maps in the
expansion set. If you are too busy, I think that online you could find any
sort of pseudo-programmer among the war3 fans, ready to do anything in order
to help you...
Every battle can be one of the little combats on the already known hot
country borderlines (and so not very important), or it can have a great
impact on the plot and be sponsorized and prepared for weeks (also on
computers magazine or newsletter). In these last ones you could decide to
let partecipate just the best players of ladder games.
I just let you figure it out how many players could be involved (and happy
^_^), true heros of true clans... a story really based on blood and tears.

Now my mind is called again into the fog of times...
The vision fades out... the sounds disappear...

Let me know if it is an idea that could interest you, otherwise i need to
contact some players that have knowledges and time to develop this project."

Do u support my idea? Do u think of having all the requirements to develop the project?

what requirements would be needed? :D

I love the idea! That would be great! I suggest if such a thing were ever developed that the storyline be in part parallel to that or wc3. That way, someone could decide for arthas that he should not take frostmaurne, and then there would be more possible storylines.

As for pulling it off, I'm sure it could be done. In starcraft, you could use a program to select the mpq that starcraft used. But the blizzard patch data was still there. It's like a war3patch.mpq for the already existing war3patch.mpq. You could make the changes and put the necessary maps in the new special mpq, then post up a special program allowing you to use that on infoceptor and right here. Hopefully, enough players would find it.

My brother is trying to do something like you described... except it doesn't follow Warcraft III

i'm curious if it could be done by selecting a map that you play after victory. u know: set next scenario, but in a multiplater map. that would get rid of the need for most likely illegal and difficult hacking of the game files.

Doing what you asked would make warcraft II an MMORPG (Massivly-multiplayer online role-playing game), which would lead to monthly fee's, and blizzard having to always make new maps, or people would complain. it is an awsome idea, but is only going to be done if fans to it, sorry to burst your bubble.

Yeah, that's eactly ehat World of Warcraft is.

As I said, I think it is feasible.

Step 1: Make the maps etc.
Step 2: Make a Warcraft 3 exe that runs multicamp.mpq and connects to both bnet and a private server. The private one would be for the campaign.
Step 3: Put the maps in multicamp.mpq.
Step 4: Post up your new Warcraft 3 exe complete with mpq on major sites.
Step 5: Play. Everyone would have the next requisite map. There would not need to be button hacking/new menus or anything. They could still play regular bnet, and the patch info from blizz should still work, and when they wanted to play on the campaign they would connect to the private server and either join a game or create aq new game. Everyone would have the maps already.

You guys, blizz has sent that multiplayer campaigns have been possible with the set next level action from the beginning ;)

Although they did say in interviews before release they weren't going to include multiplayer campaigns. And no it wouldn't give bnet tons of overhead -- you'd just d/l the maps like you do now. Thing is there wouldn't really be any saving :p

However:

Can we say expansion pack?

So if someone is interested we could try to edit some maps on ourselves. I'm not able to do it without at least other 3-4 programmers, also for i'm used to work with starcraft editor and i am still studying the changes.
My private mail is [email protected].
If u prefer to work it out on urselves, let me know when something could be developed... i would like to test it.

:)

So you want 1-12 players to play a map that will then decide the future storyline for the other thousands of players out there?

That's what you said, did you mean that?

Multiplayer campaigns are an OK idea. Just make RPG maps that actually follow the story line.

no, but a certain group of players can play through their own storyline. Say, a clan wanted to play through their own version of the storyline. But then also there could be other people playing through their own storylines.

It's actually a really cool idea, We should do that here at Wc3Campaigns as our next project :) But instead of using the War3 story, we can make our own :D
