GameSpy gave another look today at The Frozen Throne expansion, offering insight on a few of the new units, and listing the spells and abilities of each. Today they revealed the new units and heroes of the Humans and Night Elves and their spells: Human Units Spellbreaker: Spell Steal (Transfer positive buffs from enemies to allies, and negative buffs from allies to enemies); Ground to Ground? Dragonhawk: Cloud (Disable vision of air units when cast on enemy defensive towers); Air to Air Blood Mage (Hero Unit): Flame Strike (5 second cooldown, large AoE radius.. channeling offensive spell); Banish (Makes allied target ethereal and immune to physical attacks for 10-30 seconds. Works on Heroes); Mark of Fire (Transforms friendly non-hero unit into a Phoenix that does massive damage. Lasts ~3 minutes then the unit dies in a pile of ashes) Night Elf Units Faeire Dragon: Mana Flare (Becomes a glowing ball of energy and shoot multiple projectile at enemy units); Mana Shift (Dragon becomes ethereal and is temporarily immune to physical attack. Autocast, activating every time the unit is targeted by an attacker) Mountain Giant: (High Food Cost); Taunt (Force all currently attacking enemy units to focus on the Giant); Grab Tree (Grab a nearby tree and wield it as a weapon, doing additional siege damage); Has 2 defensive upgrades Warden (Hero Unit): Blink (Short Range Teleport); Fan of Knives (Throws multiple knives in an outward arc, hitting multiple enemy units); Shadow Strike (High damage, large AoE radius. Does additional damage over time similar to Death and Decay); Spirit of Vengeance (Ultimate - Revive multiple dead night elf units into one vengeaful spirit that does massive damage and has high HP) GameSpy is scheduled to reveal the second part of their exclusive tomorrow, containing the scoop on the Undead, the Orcs, and some of the new creeps. Blizzard has mentioned that each race will only get 2 new units and one hero, so unfortunately it seems unlikely that we will see naval units in the expansion, oher than those that have been hinted at as being hireable from Goblins (thanks Jeltz). |

There will be neutral goblin ships that you can hire. I read that in a scanned article. I think it was the australian gaming magazine. I don't think there will be any race specific ships and I bbelive that you will only be able to hire transports. This mean that it is possible to have ships in UMS maps. |

Guest | There will be water creeps so that means that will open a new type of classification to allow movement in deep water, so we can make our own ships and shipyards anyways! :ggani: I hate how the descriptions are so vauge though. |

You people drive me insane. Water Units? Bah Humbug, In my opinion, theres hardly any water on maps to move around on! Why do we need any?? The zeplin seems fine enough, and all anyone seems to want out of the Expansion is the verification of "WATER UNITS!" Sorry, all this "WOOOOO!! WATER UNITS! AAH!!" and "I CANT WAIT, DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE WATER UNITS???" is driving me insane, had to vent it out. |

Water units and Sea battles was one of the greatest features of WarCraft II in many of our opions. What we're looking for is to get those back. There's nothing like a fierce battle at sea. |

Then I suggest you go do so. You can still downlaod the demo from Blizzard's site. |

I saw a screen shot with giant stone turtles coming out of deep water onto what seemed to be a bay. I really think there are gonna be sea units, but im not so sure about actual sea battles. But i could be wrong, and i hope i am. It would be awsome to see that juggernaut in action. |

Ya, they are just giant turtles. I read somewhere stating that they are the same type as the Orc submarines were trained from. |

It is confirmed that there will be transports and that there are no war ships Quote:

I have to disagree. Water battles in Warcraft 2 were just plan silly. All you did was go mass battleships/juggernauts and focus fire shit. Bring a zepplin along for submarines. I definately think that sea battles *could* be cool, and I never played war2 online, so i don't know how it was against other human players, but against computer at least --> total joke. |

well tha howl wc2 game was about massing same units out.. thats tha trick, you didnt mix troops as the same as in wc3. Sea battles could be fun, but dont we have all tha battle we need on tha ground? |

I played the online version and also played War2Kali games.... sea battles versus human opponents were lots of fun. |
