Yup, A subforum dedicated to cinematic map making, post any questions you've got and post up your cinematics here for feedback/reviews! |

Oh, cool! Thats a good idea!:D Maybe I will post a few standard tipps later how to do cinematics. ;) For example: Use your "X" key in the editor, it is your best friend. It shows the real view when you use the cinematic mode or letterbox mode. ;) But it will come later when I have time. ;) |

Damn. Even *I* didn't know about the X key! That's a nice tip. That should save me alot of time setting up my close-ups lol. -Insaniteus- |

i get the x key a lot by accident while pressing crtl-shift-c which snaps to game view -_- it's annoying |

| 02-20-2003, 03:33 PM | #10 |
umm.. another question.. daemonkiller... how did u fade out and go to a pure black area? did u turn it to letter box mode and go to some random place w/ no vision? |

Just use the 'Cinematic - Fade filter' trigger. Set it to 'Fade Out' and leave the rest default (but you can change the duration, however). The screen will fade out to a black screen. It will stay like that until you use a 'Cinematic - Fade filter' trigger again, but make it 'Fade In'! Hope that helps you! - Nuladion btw; you can open any CotN map in WorldEdit and look how DeamonKillar did it, since he's been so kind to upload the unprotected maps :ggani: or you can look at my map (not nearly as good as DeamonKillar's, but I am still a n00b in this and trying to learn!) (ps; the map isn't finished yet! but it includes some basic camera actions and fade filters ) |

Hey THANKS FOR UR REPLY!!!:ggani: Yeah, I know its too short, but the map is full :) Its only 192x192 ... I already started working on a second part, where the Fellowship actually meets Galadriel and Celeborn, but I wanted to know if people liked my first map (it's my first creation with WE). do you think I should improve some things? - Nuladion [Edit:] I just opened my map again and realized it is not completely full, so I can add some scenes where you see Haldir leading the Fellowship to Caras Galadhon! On their way the Caras Galadhon they will meet some Elves and I can have Haldir speak to them in Quenya (language of the Elves; yes, I can speak a bit Quenya, and I got some friends who know it very good)! I can add a scene where Orcs are entering Lóthlórien in the hope to find the Fellowship, but are slaughtered by the Elves ("A strongcompany of Orcs has passed. They crossed the Nimrodel, curse their foul feet in its clean water! (...) None of the Orcs will ever return out of Lórien!")! Also, I can have Legolas singing about the maiden Nimrodel when they reach the river (but I think I would have to import a sound file for this, cause in text it is kinda boring I think :ggani: But I dont know if a soundfile exists... (no, I cant sing myself 8) ) |
