Is there a converter that works

I tried that 3ds/obj converter, and it doesn't work, for the problems discussed in its thread. 3ds crashes, and obj comes up with no object.

Is there anything that works. I have a mac, so I can't use any of those application scripts. Virtual PC, could handle small apps like the converter, but not anything like 3dmax (or whatever it's called). BTW I use Cinema 4d for mac OSX.

if u use cinema 4d export your model as 3ds and use milkshape with kdubs exporter plugin
this is the easyest way
the only restriction is that you can only use one geoset yet

Milkshape is a 3d modeling tool that was created to build Half life model but supports a lot of other games and formats

the geoset is the part of the mdl or mdx where the objekts are defined
in other words where you can find hte data of polygones and textures from one objekt.
