i finish my map completely for version 1.0 otherwise BETA, and the one thing that lags my map beyond recognition is the one thing that will help my map become popular in some way, the spells thats right i implemented abilitydata.slk and the other 8 .txt files with all edited information for my first version of spells for my map, and when u initialize the map in game you lag out and crash gotta love the way things work out eh oh and i figured its the edited .txt and .slk cuz i was lagging at first i removed them and i didnt lag nemore i put em back in lag again i removed no lag |

Use default loading screen. |

well its not the .txt files its the .slk file itself but tell me how can a .slk jus lag my entire map with just that one file i edited like around maybe 8-10 spells in the .slk, thats why its lagging and if editing too many spells in the .slk is causing the lag why dont big spell edited maps like defense of the ancients obviously have no lag at all and i mean at all and fyre i always had default loading screen on because thats the screen u need for the spells to work |

Well I donno, the problem with my game was people were getting disconnected, I redid the abilitydata.slk file, it stopped the huge lag, then I found out the disc problem was the loading screen, I saved it with a custom loading screen, then I set it back to default and it worked fine. Could be a bug, but I godda go I'll be late for my flight. |

i always had default screen on, but how did u re edit ur .slk to stop lag? is there something u did that i can try? im gonna retry .slk by just editing one spell see if i still lag then, if i dont that means i edited too much spells woe is me |

th ereson for lag might be becasue of to many units, doodads, that kinda stuff. i dont know any thing about spells and edition them so can help u there. but u might want te try and remove some units that u dont need, or some doodads that r unused. that might help |

Damnit, my flight is grounded for the day, but what I did with the slk file was redo everything, I must have misplaced a decimal or something, instead of 0.1 I might have had 1 or 10, and it wouldnt work right. If things are decimaled it means they are percentaged, and the game doesn't 1000% lol. |

lol it seems that alot of the problems with spell editing and skining is typing things wrong:( i know that when i was skining stuff, i typed so much stuff wrong then i had to come here and ask for help:gsmile: but yea some of ur spells r probably typed wrong or sumthig. might wana cheack that out |

omg that seems logical i put 1 in alot of places 1.5 even a 100 lol oops ill come back here if that didnt fix the problem also one more thing, i need to edit button positions does neone know the coordinates for the lower 4 button slots when u learned a spell and the upper 4 slots when u enter the choose skill for hero slot area so the first one would be buttonpos and the second one would be researchbuttonpos |

Guest | u crashed the abilitydata.slk thats why it laggs so badly weibbe's spell editor for example randomly bugs the slk file... you can a) just redo it with excel only b) try copy past into another slk file |

0,0 - 1,0 - 2,0 - 3,0 0,1 - 1,1 - 2,1 - 3,1 0,2 - 2,1 - 2,2 - 3,2 |

I do a lot of spell editing, and ive had this problem before too. There seems to be a point, different with every spell, that is in between crashing the game and not crashing the game. I think some of your values may be too high, plus the spell editors out there add things randomly to the spells sometimes. This is why excel is the best. |

ya i just got excel gonna go check it out |

i think electro got it, i edited the .slk of one spell just made blizzard shower 1 wave pure lag once again so it must be the editor time to see what excel can do |

Guest | I actually find Excel to be the easiest spell editor because it has little comments for the 11-15 data cells that tell you exactly what the different values do. Plus, it never screws up on you. :gsmile: |
