If you want to get it to run, you should exactly explain what you have done and what happened. Then someone might be able to help you. |

i do everything like everybody does... 1. open image extractor 2. open the mpq : war3.mpq 3. open image : SpecialSplatMask.tga a window showed up and say file ... . tga has an unsupported compression. i use corel photopaint to edit the file and save using the "no compression" option... i also tried using .jpg but unfortunately image extractor can't open jpgs |

If you set it with no compression then you're not going to get compression errors. |

I have no experience with Corel Photopaint. Therefore I can only advise you to try another image editor. Or you find someone else, who also uses Photopaint and who can get it to work. I can try to check your file out, so please post it here. Maybe Photopaint uses a different way to save TGA files than other programs. |

After some delay I've researched your image. It appears that Corel Photopaint saves images in Indexed Color Mode. WC3 Imageextractor needs images in RBG Color Mode. Indexed Color saves up a vast amount of space (you file was unpacked 476 KB, after converting it to RBG color it was 1,8 MB!), but in this case it is not useful. Maybe there is a setting (maybe before saving; in Photoshop 7, which I used to convert it to RBG Color, I had to do that before clicking "Save"). Additionally it seems that Corel Photopaint doesn't support layers, which are also very important. I'd advise you to get Photoshop or Paintshop Pro. If you don't have the money, then search the internet for it (illegal, but..:D ). Anyway, never post anything about warez here, it is forbidden. |

thx Starcraftfreak yes, you're right Corel Photopaint can't save 32-bit TGA... well, I've asked a friend of mine to convert it using his Photoshop :) so no need to spend more money on graphic editor software |
