Need Help With SPELL EDITOR

I need a recommendation as to which Spell Editor to use. I tried all of them out a week or two ago, but I had problems making each of them work. The one I had the most luck with was with DaishiofDeath's Spell Editor, but when I tried to save the mpq, it would be an "open file" screen - not a save screen.

Here is what I want to do exactly. If someone could tell me how to do these following things to the spell "Dark Portal (Archimonde)," I would be very grateful. Here's what I want to do:

Dark Portal (Archimonde) modifications:

1) Change the icon location for Dark Portal so it appears in the 3rd lower box of the command cube as its default location (the location where the aura abilities are for heroes, such as Brilliance Aura), not in the 1st box.

2) Change Dark Portal so it summons just one unit, a Doomguard, for any level the spell is at. It should not summon any other units, such as Fellhounds.

3) Make Dark Portal cost mana - we'll say 300.

4) Make the summoned Doomguard have a limited duration that kills it after 90 seconds (normally, Dark Portal summonables last forever, for they have no limited duration).

There are more things I want to do with other abilities, but if I can learn how to do these things to Dark Portal, then I probably can get by with that knowledge.

As one last MAJOR question, is there a way to convert "hero" abilities to "unit" abilities and vise versa? If there is, I would like to do this to Dark Portal as well, for I do not want its attributes to change with each different level. I would like to have Dark Portal be a normal caster unit's ability. In other words, I don't want this unit to gain levels like a hero, be able to collect items like a hero, or do any other sort of hero activity.

Thank you very much for all your time!

I don't have the time to explain every step to you, but I give you a little advise:
Do you have Microsoft Excel (or some similiar spreadsheet editor)? It is the best "Spelleditor" I know. Just extract AbilityData.slk with some MPQExtractor like MPQView or WinMPQ and open it with Excel. Give it a look. It's not that difficult to figure out how to edit spells there.
