Please post your terrain "tricks for the WE here. "Tricks" as in stuff like this:http://wc3campaigns.com/forums/showt...threadid=10153 , how to make great stuff like this, and not "I can use the raise tool!" This is supposed to be an aid to make great terrain, something lacking in the map development. If you have something that would make impressive maps.

P.S. I hope this gets stickied, cause the last thread I did like this was close :D

Another thing to add is how to stuff like the above thread, because I don't even know that one. I think it's an mdx thing. Please help me on how to make steep stuff like that, the large height. Also, how do u make the pathing not count on the doodads?

Thnx

Well Heres one of my tricks on how to make the terrain Realistic, mix up to 4 terrains together just random and stuff, then add doodads into it then i touch up the parts were i dont want certain terrain.

For Example:
You have:
Grass(Green)
Dirty Grass(Orangish, Yellowish, Brownish)
& Pebbles(Bright Browness Pebbles.)

Now im making a Walkway between two cliffs, and its suppose to be a Beautiful site so its about 30 Medium Grid Sizes Say... so i mix up the 3 tiles now...

i add in some barrens tree's on the side, and i want them to be placed over grass so i replace the DirtyGrass and Pebbles with Grass and then it looks more Realistic, now i look at the main road were units would travel (In-Between the Tree's) so i replace the Grass and pebbles with DirtyGrass try to make it fade from the Grass(green)
Then i add some Barrens rocks, and put pebbles under those rocks, and now it looks really cool.

Thats one of my Tricks.. to make good terrain.:D

PS. Use Elevation!!!

Maybe post a pic Aftershock? That'd help ppl in understanding it. Also one of my tips. When using a cityscape or dalaran tileset to make cities etc... symmetry helps alot in making it look cool. Use the low wall doodads. Lots of columns and arches. I need to figure out how to post these pics first. How do I take a screenshot? Print screen right?
