I thought this might be handy for you people who don't want to look through every thread to see what it is. <<< IF THERE ARE ANY ERRORS IN LINKS OR INFORMATION, PLEASE REPLY AND REPORT IT >>> -------------------- SpellEditor made by DaishiOfDeath -------------------- This tool allows you to edit spells through a simple and easy to use interface. -------------------- -------------------- 3DSmax MDX Exporter (Supports Animations) made by republicola -------------------- This exporter exports geometry, bones, helper, cameras, collisionshapes, and most importantly, animations. It was written in 3dsmax5, but should work with 4.2. -------------------- -------------------- MaxScript MDX Importer/Exporter made by KMK -------------------- This is for 3ds Max. It was made for max 4, also works for 5 and gmax. It's still work in progress. It imports geometry and animated object visibility at present. Animated visibility means that the corpse only appears at certain stages and various other bits appear and disappear. Materials need to be added manually, see below. Bones, helpers and lights should be next, then animation before an export function. -------------------- -------------------- SpellEditor Number 2! Beta 3 made by wiebbe -------------------- A new version of wiebbe's spell editor. "This new Editor Reads the comments from the .slk and placed them in the tooltip of the textboxes. Just hover your mouse over a text box, (mostly the Data boxes) and a tooltip will appear. Note: Not all textboxes have tooltips!" -------------------- -------------------- War3 Spell Editor made by lordred -------------------- This is probably one of the best spell editors out there. If you spell edit at all then you should definately download this. -------------------- -------------------- Milkshape3D MDL Exporter Plugin made by kdub -------------------- A plugin for Milkshape 3D for exporting MDL files. -------------------- -------------------- W3M Map Utilities v2.0 made by ghostwar -------------------- W3M Map Utilities is a combination of all the best Warcraft III modding tools and is, by far, the best all-in-one editing program out there. W3M Map Utility's features include a SLK Editor, Minimap Image Application, 3 Levels of Map Protection, Easy Map Information Editing, Ability and String File Editors and Palette BLP Converter. -------------------- -------------------- War3 File Converter v2.1 made by YobGuls -------------------- Converts MDL files to MDX (Warcraft III model files). -------------------- -------------------- Wc3 Image Extractor II made by DJBnJack -------------------- Extracts images from inside the MPQ for editing as a TGA or JPG file. -------------------- -------------------- W3Z Map Editor made by zepir -------------------- A pretty good map editor with lots of functionality. This one includes map protecting. -------------------- -------------------- UMSWE 3.6 made by Scio -------------------- Another Map Editor, containing many cool features. -------------------- -------------------- Custom Campaign Installer made by zepir -------------------- This tool is for MOD developers who want an easy install program for their users. It's a generic MOD installer that does what you need. -------------------- -------------------- ExtProtect v0.1.0.0 Beta made by Extrarius -------------------- A nice Protector program. "How is ExtProtect better? 1) It stores an encrypted backup that can be used to easily unprotect maps if you remeber the password. 2) Easy to use interface. 3) If you don't want to store a backup (because they make the map ~12% bigger), you can just leave the pasword fields blank and the map will actually shrink in size. 4) It is the first map protector that obfuscates the JASS script to make it more difficult to edit." -------------------- -------------------- 3ds->mdx Converter made by DaishiOfDeath -------------------- Converts OBJ or 3DS files into MDX files for use in Warcraft III. -------------------- -------------------- Geoset Replacement Utitlity made by republicola -------------------- This utility speeds up the process of modeling by taking out the step where you replace all the vertex lists by hand in notepad. -------------------- -------------------- War3 File Unpacker made by BlacKDicK -------------------- Small tool used to unpack some of the War3 generated files, including: War3 Replays (*.w3g) War3 Save Games (*.w3z) War3 Game Caches (*.w3v) This is pretty much a tool to help the research of those file formats. -------------------- -------------------- ZIP to MPQ 1.00 made by BlacKDicK -------------------- This tool will convert standard ZIP files to MPQ Files. -------------------- -------------------- W3 Reseter made by BlacKDicK -------------------- This program resets Warcraft III to version 1.00 -------------------- -------------------- W3UEdit 2.00 made by bg77 -------------------- A useful Warcraft III Unit Editor. -------------------- -------------------- Wc3 Color/Gradient Creator made by Azumarril -------------------- WC3 Color Tag creator with gradients. Well worth it because it makes creating colors faster. -------------------- -------------------- War3 Colour 2.00 made by Magos -------------------- This program helps you make coloured text. Supports both single and gradient colours. -------------------- -------------------- War3 SLK Edit made by Magos -------------------- This is an SLK editor for you people who doesn't have Excel or a similar program. It also removes the formatting tags making the filesize much smaller. -------------------- -------------------- Warcraft III Viewer made by ThePhrophet -------------------- This is a program to view MDX and BLP files, convert BLP files to BMP, JPG, TGA files and convert BMP, JPG, TGA files to BLP files. -------------------- If there are some tools that are not on the list, please respond or edit them in. |

Guest | I'd like to get this spell editor listed as a tool. In my opinion, it truely tops any editor currently out there. And I'm looking for feedback on features it's missing that other editors have that people think are truely good. If you're still editing slk or func/strings.txt by hand, or using an editor with a confusing spreadsheet layout that makes you hassle with aliases and what not, I *highly* recommend you try this. Everything is made as simple to understand as possible. Tips are loaded from the slk for all fields, and it's even got plenty of extra tips. It has simple, interactive editing of the func/strings tip data, button positions (graphical clicking, no silly 3,2 crap), hotkeys, etc. If you do any kind of spell editing at all, you should at least click the screenshot. I'd be surprised if you then didn't immediately begin downloading the zip, which, by the way, just includes an EXE. No libraries, no packages, no special installation folders. It will run on Windows without hassle. Readme: http://redscull.com/help/war3spelled12.htm File: http://redscull.com/storage/war3spelled12.zip Screenshot: http://redscull.com/pics/war3spelled.jpg And like I said, I welcome feedback. I know the "Do you want to save" reminder is a little quirky about when it pops up. And I'm considering adding automatic extraction of the files from the mpq, and adding a feature to insert the files directly into maps. Thanks for reading. Now has graphical icon selection! |

A mac spell editor is good. Even though its beta, as soon as the new download section is done, it will be going in. If you want to make other mac tools it would be appreciated. We always neglect you guys, but im sure you 10 or so mac users (just a joke) would really like some wc3 tools. |

I accidently stumbled across this SYLK editor. The interface reminds of Excel. http://www.smempire.org/projects/SYLK-Pad/ Just thought I'd mention it here ^^. |

How about labeling the programs? Describe if they are useable for TFT or only WoC! |

It does only work for RoC up to 1.06. It is not compatible with any newer versions of Warcraft III (including TFT). |

I know I posted before, but I think it would be most beneficial to have an updated list posted here. Most of these tools are no use anymore. I could be wrong but to my knowledge... SpellEditor - Doesn't work with FT. 3DSmax MDX Exporter - Art tools replace this. MaxScript MDX Importer/Exporter - Art tools replace this. SpellEditor Number 2! Beta 3/ Redscull's Editor - Don't work with FT Wc3 Image Extractor II - Warcraft 3 Viewer 2 is better in my opinon. UMSWE 3.6 - replaced with UMSWE 4. Custom Campaign Installer - Custom campaigns really replace needing this anymore. ExtProtect v0.1.0.0 Beta - Heavy Locker is much better. 3ds->mdx Converter - Art tools W3UEdit 2.00 - Doesn't work as you said, since Blizzard added more entries. Warcraft III Viewer - The second version is much more useful. Also I noticed some other useful tools were missing including; NoLimits, KaTTaNa's JASS Editor, Biturn, WinMPQ, and WE Unlimited. Is there going to be a new and updated tools listed posted in the future? As I said a few months ago, I would be willing to create a thorough one if you didn't have the time. -Fiery |
