Menu editing (obscure)

This is a bit out there, but I'm trying to make the background to the dialog boxes more transparent. I suspect they're using a texture, so it should be possible to implant it IF wc3 will load files out of a map that were in the /UI directory of war3.mpq. Can anybody confirm or deny that this is possible?

In other words, if I want to alter, say, menu frame graphics, in theory I can implant an altered version of one of the "glue" blp files into my map. The question is, will warcraft load those, or are they treated like miscdata.yxy, and ALWAYS loaded from the war3.mpq?

I don't know about what you're wanting specifically, but I do know that I updated a camera mask and implanted IT into my map (and later into war3patch.mpq) and it DID see that one instead of the original. So I think it looks at war3 first, then war3patch, THEN your w3m. Hope that helps. :bgrun:

well for individual maps, i dont beleive u can load things liek that, cuz i think they are the same textures as the dialog boxes in the main menus and stuff, but its worth a shot
