I am pleased to release my attempt at Diablo style town portals. I am very happy with the outcome, and hope that others may find it usefull.

Some of the features:

* Completely customizable
* Easily change the special effect used for the portal by editing one variable
* Heros can return to the point where the portal was created
* Only friendly heros can enter a created portal
* Old portals close if a new one is opened by the same player
* Portal has the effect of being selectable so you can identify who created the portal
* Destination for portals is as easy as defining regions for each player
* Use of 3D sound effects for portal open and close that can be changed by variables
* Ability to define regions where Scrolls of Town Portal can not be used

I hope this can be of some use to folks out there. Enjoy!

*UPDATE* Version 1.3 is now out. Fixed a few bugs, and added support for multiplayer to close down portals when a player leaves. Also reduced the code considerably, and nearly halved the number of variables. There is now one trigger to handle the portals (compared to 24 previously).

*UPDATE* Version 1.4 fixes some typos I made in v1.3. Was passing the wrong data to some functions which caused the portals to behave incorrectly.

First off, thanks. :ggani:

I have released it for use in anything (so long as it isn't illegal :). All I ask in return is recognition for my work (Talking about the CREDITS trigger and in responding to any queries about the triggers. I do not require, nor particularly care, to have my name plastered within the game itself).

I've also been busy working on other things, but you may be interested in a new version I am planning on releasing that fixes a few things, as well as reducing the amount of code.

Heh you used my town portal scroll! You took my name off of it though, oh well. Whatever. Good job on the trigger.

You know, MPQ'ing out of Diablo isn't hard to do. :) I already had a bunch of icons extracted from Diablo II that I wanted to use in future maps.

I just downloaded it!
If I like it, may I use it in any of my future maps?
Of course you'll get credit for it :D

It says in the readme sorta thing in the map that you can use it aslong as you keep the credit trigger in there.

Sorry for the late reply folks, ended up going on a last minute 2 day ski trip.

As FyreDaug pointed out, the script is free to use in any project, so long as the CREDITS trigger remains.

Thanks. I originaly wanted this for an RPG I had started on. I always hated TP'ing to a friendly town, only to have to run all the way back to where I was last, and current methods already done just didn't fit the bill.

Unfortunately, I'm too busy with other projects to work on any of my own maps, but I'd love to see a nice map use this.
