Guest | As it says in my signature 8) . What I'm talking about, though, is that I have an idea that will require a whole different team with at least 50% of development time devoted to the project. However, it would require I become more popular so people know that I'm serious. Therefore the purpose of this thread for now is to find out if anyone would be interested, and to get feedback on this idea. Before we start: I know what I'm saying is a blantant ripoff of someone else's idea, but his would be out sooo long before mine people will have forgotten by that time. I suggest a sort of different "kind" of MMORPG from what...erm...can't-remeber-his-name was thinking. Very simply, it would be more of a group-type of thing rather than open. I was thinking we create "accounts" for everybody with "passwords" built into the maps themselves. I won't go into too much detail, but the main point is that in order to make the maps dynamic, there would have to be a small portion of host-games running during times. These games would be hosted by the original team and each map would be modified at the end of each gameplay so that the players in the map had EXP and items and such carried over from each map pretty much automatically. For the other half of the idea, the team could also be constantly working on updates and things...I haven't thought much about it. Okay, so the idea is starting to sound flat-out stupid to me. But I want to know what you guys think, because I'm still inreagued by something like this, and it's far from impossible if we have a good following. -Syco |

Guest | As I explained (or think I did), but I did write alot so I'll rephrase. Another guy had an idea for an MMORPG, but his is based of something and...well basically I had a completely different idea. Oh, I remember. The difference was that my idea would be non-linear, because of the map updates (dynamic non-linear gameplay). However, his idea was linear with character stuff from one map to the next. The way mine would work is that every member of the team willing (including beta testers if necessary) would host a game. The game would be the server, and would allow people to play. You would sign up off a website (almost definitely mine), and we would accomodate. 1 host for every 12 or less people in a realm (but not all at the same time). Hope I answered your questions. -Syco |
