You want the beta models?

Well you just got the beta and wanna check out the models and you look and see worldedit won't accept them now you could cry like a little bitch or pull a Mcguyver...
First things first make sure you backed up your War3 patch.mpq the old one before you installed the beta once you do it deletes it so back it before installing.
Now copy your War3x.mpq and save it as war3patch.mpq.
Now open up your backed up War3patch and extract them and paste them at War3dir\scripts\
Now open up your war3 worldedit now you can save maps with the new units.

If you play a W3m in War3expo it'll delete so just change the extension to w3x simple and safe. Also w3x can't be opened in worldedit, but *Most* can be renamed safely.
New tilesets won't work as of yet (Crash worldedit) and you will get alot of string missing errors. Some of the icons are also missing and only units that are seen in multiplayer are avialable with some extras. No campaign exclusive units.
The panda is there and you can add him to Lost Temple just to show it to everyone or whatever your map of choice is.

The betas auto-eating tomes killed my only W3m on my harddrives coolness (the bagdemo)

Can you extract the models and skins for us who didnt get the BETA to play with?

SOO? I just want the warden model\skin cuz ive been needing it for a campaign ive been working on.

IT doesnt come out for a long time and by then i wont be working on the campaign anymore.

On impulse (without reading the full post and seeing that it required steps and didn't actually contain the models themselves) I removed the attachment. (We ALL know these cannot be distributed, don't we?)

I saw the post (someone had pointed out to me that it contained the beta models), so I deleted it, on pure instict because we can't distribute those.... downloaded a copy first.... I then rexamined the map itself, and the post, realised my mistake, and reuploaded it to that post, then edited the original to add a link to the file.

What's the point in posting a map with all the new units if you need the beta to see them? Can't they just see them by playing the beta?

Not all of them are exposed yet. Like the Very cool looking Hydra (3 headed water dragon) and the ever cooler Panda BrewMaster

Despite anything, Blizzard wouldn't care about it at all if you just give the models to a few people.

dude, theyre already gonna have enuff problems with the everpresent warforge threat, nd once someone posts them, theyre gonna spread like wildfire (sweet *** magic card--Urza's saga).

I dont see what the problems with giving the beta models out are? Hell i was planning on using a few anyways(and yes I did get it ((YAY))). I dont see why that would be such a big deal, and whoever says warforge is a problem doesnt like to play the frozen throne beta do they? My friends werent lucky enough to get it, so warforge is thier only hope.

Guys, you're putting WC3C in a pretty delicate situation. We're all dying to see the beta stuff. Certainly, I include myself in there, since I don't have a copy. But this is a legitimate "aboveground" site that is sanctioned by Blizzard, and as such, provided with actual copies of the beta for the site itself.

Take a step back and ask why this site should then turn around and stab Blizzard in the back by distributing that beta to everyone with a modem. In principle, I have little against piracy. I've pirated games before, certainly. I have even less against people getting the various mdx and blp files that come with the beta. Make no mistake: *I* want those files as well. But you're asking Wc3c to screw Blizzard. Not as a mere buyer of the game as we are, but as a web site with a more intimate connection to them. If we really want those files so bady, there's plenty of places to get them: other, nonsanctioned sites, IRC channels *other* than the one that appears on the main page, PM'ing anybody at all, on IRC or otherwise with the beta.


(~rolls eyes) Other than waiting a few months and plunking some cash like the other 90,000 people rejected from the beta (not to mention the people who never applied in the first place), of course.

i have no problem with Warforge the_boy_101. I actually would support it if it decided to show its face again. But im not Blizzards representative. Sure i would love to play beta with my friends, but i dont rule the world.

edit: woa, plunking some cash...are u telling me that i get some perks for the real frozen throne other than just being a beta tester?
