ok,

ive always had a major peave with XAssassinX's Commando Wars ... it had no (imho) mid to late game balance.

kill that huge frost wyrm, and you get _1_ bounty. this basically means that games would only last about 5-10 minutes ... one one player pulled ahead in kills, and there was no stopping em. (oh, and the in the version i was working on, you couldn't win ... that's fixed too)

i tried emailing him, and put up a post ... no luck. so i finally broke down and mod'd the map myself. (with Foolie's help)

now, all units give half their peon costs back when killed. so if you knock down that large wyrm, you get 16 kills for it.

we've played some test games, and i haven't seen any of the problems that were originally coming up ...

im currently working on a version that will add some late-game anti air units, so that the fighting returns to ground vs. ground stuff ... and creating an HTML page that has all the unit coversions on it.

Ofcourse not. Why would you and people ask why I preach map protection....

Back off, weaaddar. He said he tried to ask him, but couldn't get in touch with him. I think this is a great edit for the map, as it is horribly flawed in its current state. This hardly changes actual gameplay at all, anyway.

Open source forever.

I beg to differ. Anyone who wants to change my game. Im on AssassinX in Azeroth server. and im also a mod in this forum :)
BTW. I hate ppl who change my map without asking, only one i know who asked to change it is zodac and a few of his friends. Sorry that the game is like it is currently. I never finished it, someone brought it over to retail without my permission.
that explains it, all this time, ppl have been playing an unfinished map, playable but with many probs. I intend on releasing a whole new one soon.. Sorry for the long wait, ive been playing melee and have school :)

I while back I emailed assassin wanting to fix it, and he was a nice guy and said "have at it". I nevermade a good version though. I removed mass peon killings. invunerable, invisible, no collission peons, but it just didn't work very well.

This kind of solution sounds really good, and the very reason the I think map protection on a high level is bad.

I do understand though if someone had ripped assassin's name off and put their own down. So I believe in "low level" protection.

Open the editing to REAL modders, but not lamers with no skills at all.
