Guest | I am working on a map set in modern day. However I don't want to use the gay siege thing as my tank unit. Does anyone know where or who I can contact to get a skin for a tank? Also aircraft skin would be nice. |

Guest | do it yourself? one thing though.., how do u expect a skin can make these models look nowaday-ish, when the basic shape is rather off? a goblin zappelin wont all of a sudden look like a boeing afterall.. :o |

Aircraft and Tank... well a skin wouldn't quite cut it... you'd need a custom model for either. Unfortunately, custom models are impractical right now (as they are arguably impossible at this point). Sorry dude... a bit of advice though: Warcraft III is probably not the game for your mod, heh. The closest possible thing you could do would be to take the gyrocopter, edit the MDX file so that the smoke and the propeller are transparent, ignore the up and down motion, heh, and make the rest of the skin an aircraft. The seige tank is also probably the closest possible thing to the tank you're looking for with similar modifications. Either way, they won't look that realistic, Warcraft is cartoonish by design. |

Guest | SOme people have figured out how to do custom models, but most have no plans to help anybody else do the same. The problem is that you can't have a detailed model, all the models have to be low-poly. So a tank would never look very realistic. |

Nova you can make a model in 3ds and add it to game but it'll be stantionary since we have no idea how to do animations yet and you can make it as HIGH poly as you want...its just theres the suggested limit of 600. However some campaign unit sopusedly uses 1300 polygons. (I'm not sure what unit that is but 1300!?!? probably a changling unit) |
