terrain problem!!!

When im trying to make a mountain with rivers and waterfalls, but i dont want water in canyons i try to make ramps(not the doodad ramps) i cant place the everywhere so in some places its cliffs in the water that i cant make ramps of.. ive seen maps that got ramps in the water

Sure you can make ramps on the water. But i see in your screenshot that there's no space for it. Making the pool bigger will solve your problem.

You could also get the steep hill mod from www.darkcrescent.com and do it manually, thus no need for cliffs at all.

You could start the whole map as shallow (or deep) water and raise the land from that. And then when you lower the land it'll become a river without the cliffs.

Here's how I do it -> first I place the water normally there I want it to be. Then I deselect Enforce Water Heights. After that with the 'same level' brush I put it back into normal (not water). Then I just lower the terrain there where the water was previously placed. That's all. Renember also to not make any terrain changes close to that water when the Enforce Water Heights is marked because that would make the water change back into dirt (or other type of ground).
