Guest | Do you have a half-finished map? Have you not had the enthusiasm to open WE in weeks/months/years!? Are the ideas still swimming around in your head? Well, apparently, a good deal of mapmakers out there are like this. Only the good ones can finish a project on their own. Only the good ones can bask in the glory of having total strangers create a game, and fill it fast. Or can they? I can help you finish your map at no cost, no credit required and do all I can to help you make it popular! Why am I doing this? Because the community could be missing out on some really cool maps, and because I could realyl use some experience with certain parts of the editor. Here's the only simple rules: 1) Because you were too lazy to finish it yourself, and wouldn't have opened the editor if you had not otherwise been promted to, I work on my time (which is generally not a small schedule for mapmaking) 2) I will only work long enough so that you know what you need done, and know how to do it (and I'll probably also help you through the hard stuff) 3) You realize that I, by far, cannot do everything. -Syco |

Guest | Um..... not sure im getting the point. I thought that in another post u said that you were basicly a newb, and knew very little about the WE. Before you start this, make a couple maps proving that you are good for the job, and I might give you 'Spirit', a turn based map, with a unique battle arena. |

Guest | Spectre: Sounds good. The point is this: There are at least a dozen maps a week lost to the fact that nobody has the creative flow on them still. Some people just sort of shrug it off (and I will not be helping these people), but for people like me it kind of slips. Sometimes the creativity falls into a new (very often completely different) idea. That's what I want to fix. As far as me being a newb, I was. I was also a newb in the SC editor. I became almost a master with that. So, I haven't released any maps, but I'm the only who can tell weather or not I know what I'm doing (especially for the fact that, thank god, nobody is over my shoulder all of the time). I think I got a pretty good idea of triggers, and the least I can do is come up with some ideas to revive a dead map. -Syco |

I've done that COUNTLESS times when I was young. I've been a map maker ever since I was like 8. They were never really that good, and I never finished them, but my skills have grown over time. I would always get in the habit of doing like all the terrain, but never really getting around to doing the triggers. The triggers drove me NUTS!!! I think there were two maps that I acually finished in my Starcraft days. One was a Starwars UMS, where you build up armies of Starwars units. You could even make Star Destroyers, and sacrafice them into Super Star Destroyers. And the other team could get Mon Calamari Starcruisers (which were carriers) that held A-Wings (interceptors) Almost every unit was made to compare to the Starwars Universe. And I also made a map called Larvacide. Dodge the larva! Each level got harder exponentially. I think the levels were 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 larva. I made the map with the hacked editor. I made countless RPGs that never even made it off the ground. Lets see now... 2 Starwars RPGs, 1 original, 1 with New Hope A Zelda RPG Original RPGs (prolly 3-4) that lead to the idea of Chrono Crisis (what I'm working on now) Sequels to the map Final Fantasy Tactics 2 (My alltime favorite Starcraft RPG, it died out because it was far too hard in the begining, and just about noone made it past the first few levels. Plus it was very long for a multiplayer map, and most people left) Sequels to the map Demon Incubus. (Someone made a Demon Incubus 4* - dunno how it got to 4 - that I tested, and it was quite good. I don't know what ever happened to it though.) Diablo III ( :D ) And I don't know how many others... The one I'm really working the hardest on right now hasn't even begun yet. I've been toying with the idea of a sequel to Chrono Trigger. I've gotten most of the music I want for the game, and I've gotten the first few chapters or so on script. I'm still polising up the storyline in my head, because it is more complicated than any starcraft/warcraft map so far. I have the first act down, and I have most of the last 3 acts. The 2nd act is when things get complicated, and I have to sort through Chrono Trigger & Cross storylines. It's going to be one hell of a game! I assure you! I'll start working on the actual map durring this summer when I acually have time. |

Guest | I'd help with the triggers...but you mentioned it was the most complicated map yet. If you meant in the trigger department, I don't know JASS. :P -Syco |
