Hmmm, . . . yeah; okay . . . (sorry, I'm not the most confident about trying this) Although the user says demonicgnoll, I originally signed up under Marco Polaris. My brother later signed up so he could grab some maps (he thinks that's what this site is all about), and whenever I enter the site it logs in under his username. I just post my thoughts under it because I'm too lazy to find out how to switch back to my username. Back on subject: the Torrap Race. Right. Before the game's release, I was severely disappointed to discover that not only was there no saurian race, lizardfolk and their kin could not even appear in the game as creeps, mercenaries, or anything! (I'm a big fan of the reptilian aspect of fantasy) I spent a lot of time brooding over this, and inventually thought about trying to make a race for the game based on my ideas. Because I didn't want to simply take a race from another game or setting, I spent some time trying to create a new breed of reptile. The result was a raptorkin, (called torraps) which separates from the basic lizardman without leaving the herpian fold. I gave the creature horns on the chin, brow, and back of the jaw in a pseudo-resemblance of hair, and added the two nose horns on impulse (note: females only have “hair horns on the back of their heads!). Later, I added two more subraces to keep with Blizzard's style – the tordaks and dragonkin (I removed the dragonkin as not suiting the flavor of my race). Please keep in mind that all I have are ideas. Right now I have a story outline, basic ideas for three heroes and seven to eight units, and the bare plots for a campaign, but I'm only a junior in high school without a job, and can't do squat right now without the help of a team of skinners, modelers, and all the other functions necessary. Fortunately, I'm a decent sketcher, so here are some simple drawing of the torrap Warmonger, Psion, Guard, and Pyrotechnist, and the tordak Legionary and Templar. I have a picture of the Tordak Pterrakin, but I forgot to scan it. NOTE: The torrap are supposed to have a sandy desert coloration, with three shades of reddish brown, the palest at the underportion and the darkest along the ridge of the body. Torraps can be mottled or striped. Tordaks are general an emerald green, with glowing yellow eyes that lack pupils. Later, I'll give some more details on my ideas of the race. Please give me the encouragement I need (or even better, the skill!). Let's start with the Warmonger: |

For crying out loud! The file size is too big!! I'll see what I can do, but like I said, it will have to wait until next week. Until then, maybe some info will help. Here a bit on the Warmonger. (Side note: when I say raptorkin, I mean like Utahraptorkin, if you catch my drift.) WARMONGER The leaders of the torrap tribes, the Warmongers must not only be skilled in battles both tactically and directly, but also be wise to the needs of their followers. Seperated from their fellow raptorkin at an early age, they are trained exclusively in the potent crafts of persuasion, leadership, military tactics, and melee combat. Although like all torraps they lack magical abilities, their own training and discipline allow them to not only affect others with their charisma, but also themselves, through mental exercises. (Physical Description: The Warmonger is an exceptionally large torrap, thick with chin horns {belying his age} and wielding two large falchions in combat. He wears a form of half-plate, and several assorted spears are holstered on the back of his armor. His foot talon is almost too big to use effectively - but isn't.) 1st Ability (uncertain) Haste Bringing all his mental training to bear, the Warmonger focuses on his thoughts, which seem to run faster than time itself. Through practise, the Warmonger can try to bring his physical self up to speed with his mental self, though such actions are taxing and can only be accomplished for short lengths of time. Fear Aura Even to those who don't know his prowess, a Warmonger appears daunting enough, standing a head over most other humanoids. Some Warmongers practise the skill of intimidation until it becomes second nature to them. Such warriors are feared for two reasons on the battlefield; just being near them makes most warriors balk at striking, or even hesitate to defend themselves. Battle Commands (Ultimate/Channeling) Though a Warmonger is many things, he is first and foremost a general. Though all Warmongers shine when planning out their plan of attack or resistance, a few are of such skill that they can even command their soldiers in the thick of combat, their great voices heard over the throngs of battle. The cry lifts the heart of every warrior, correcting their errors such that, almost magically, blows are dealt more heavily, and blows against his warriors are easily parried. More later, when I have time. |

Alright LITTLE BROTHER, a few things for reference to all who read this: 1): This document was posted before I could get my account to work; if you compare the dates of the first three posts with those on my account, you'll see that they are months apart, with the posts coming first. I thought I had an account before that, but could never get it to work, then discovered that my account name wasn't in use: either I never actually logged in (that being my fault), or my account was somehow deleted - I tend to believe the former reason. In either event, I had my brother's permission to use his account name, since he hasn't even so much looked at it since he logged in! In fact, he's only started posting today!! 2): Continuing that case, this thread was posted A YEAR AGO!! Why on earth is "demonicgnoll" bringing up a thread that died when it sprouted? 3): Demonicgnoll, if you are going to keep posting in this forum, you might want to change your language. Yes, there is some swearing, though most respectable people tend to tone it down at least slightly from your vulgar posts. Plus, people tend to ignore those who cloud their speech with such poor language, since such users become hard to understand for those who do not speak English as a native tongue. Come on, you're sitting in front of a computer with all the time in the world - at least take the time to think about what you're going to say and use the proper punctuation and grammar! 4): I know you're probably just going to ignore this post anyway, just like you ignore any reasonable arguement I present person-to-person. Here, I'll help you: there's an ingore list in your UserCP. Add me to it, and you won't even have to pretend that you can't see my posts. As a last request, I ask that a moderator close and/or delete this thread, since it is a dead thread only resurrected thanks to the stupid bigotry of a self-centered moron. |
