Mixing Abilities?

Since many of ya out there is good at spell editing,
I wonder if i can make a ability thats based on defend but
makes the targer spell imune? Ive found GFX and stuff inside the
mpq file and such..
Anyone know if this is possible?

It is possible but not really through spell editing. You'd have to do that one through triggers. Anyway, there is an exsisting ability which grants spell imunity. Can't remember the name but it's there.

isnt it anti magic shell , though it doesnt work like defend , its the banshee's lvl 2 spell

There's also Avatar. That makes you immune along with some other stuff and also has a countdown for it....hmm...not quite like defend then, but it's a thought.

Frozen Throne has such an ability called "magic defense" or something like that. It was replaced by magic immunity on the Spell Breaker (which I think is a shame, since the Spell Breaker had a shield animation like the footman), but I guess it's still in the files. You could also try something with mana shield.

In the normal game, I don't know. There isn't many spells working like defend (there is immolation, divine shield, and that's about it).

About using triggers: It may be done but that won't be easy, and would not be optimal. To grant spell immunity, you would need a trigger to give the ability to the unit, then taking it back after the order to deactivate is made. I would suggest using a modified immolation spell (useful, since you may want the magic defense to take mana), and trigger working on orderon and orderoff.
