@ Castle + Cliff

The cliffs dont look natural. They are too stretched and curved, if you're using them for pathing purposes, then get rid of em and get Zepir's Editor.

Pretty nice terrain tho. :D

nice its just that the sky shot doesn't look too good. I don't know why but anyways i love what the buildings and the waterfall look like

Looking good :D

Make the waterfalls bigger! They are just as wide as an unit... Make them about 3 times as wide!

The castle look cool! ut move it a bit cause it looks like some pieces of it are hanging over the cliff.

Keep up the good work!

btw: How did you make the waterfalls? Did you make an unit with the waterfall model and then resized it?

oh.. the waterfall took me a long *** time... i just make a cliff and put in water terrain and wish for a good outcome..lol

it took me a while to get it like that.. but ill try to make it bigger...

and ill try to move it more on the cliff...

I hadnt seen the skyview when I did my last post.

It looks good but add more houses! If it's really a big city, then you'll need more then 4 houses :ggani:
And I wouldnt recommend using this shot in the cinematic, cause the cliffs dont look good from above! Change them or just dont show them :ggani:

Also, add some details to your terrain by using doodads! Place benches, sign posts, lanterns, some flowers, some birds, maybe a fountain in the middle of the little lake, etc....

Yea, really cool! the city need more buildings and the waterfall is too thin. Also, how did you stack the hunter"s hall on the entangled gold mine?
03-30-2003, 10:22 PM#11
Mountain Giant
did you stack them by making them units a sizing down the collision size?

To move units/doodads (turns collision off):
hold CTRL + NumPad 4/8/6/2

To change the height of units/doodads (turns collision off):
hold CTRL + PageUp/PageDown

eehh.. i dont think benches are very appropriate to be put in a Night elf town... my cinematic is based on a nightelf warrior, Eve(might change name...), and all of her adventures..i guess i could add birds there..lol

I have thought about adding a fountain in the middle instead of the lake.. but what the hey.. i guess ill try it..;)

ehh.. to make my castle.. i made the buildings as units.. so i can just place them close together...

umm... i thought about making more houses... but im not sure where to put them.. i might have to expand the whole town...

heres the fixed waterfall.. hopefully its better:

P.S. thanks for all the insightful input.. not jsut great job and leaving..lol :ggani:

Yes the waterfalls are looking GREAT now! Add some rocks to the bottom of the waterfall and it will be AWESOME :D

about the houses; I dont know where to put them either :ggani: But it doesnt feel like a city, more or less a forgotten place somewhere in the middle of some mountains.

about the benches: Why not? You can have wooden benches? nevermind ...

when you said you used water terrian what did you mean? was it a waterfall doodad of shallow and deep water?
