Guest | mp3 is actually only an compressed wav file. So if you make it to wav it will turn out about 10 times bigger.. You can lower the size of the mp3 by choose a lower bitrate(when converting from wav to mp3) but the sound wil be not so good. I recomend using AT LEAST 64kb/s or higher.. And you dont compress much more at 64 than an usual 128 |

I'm posting sound advice in the Cinematics for Dummies thread now. I really should have said some of this before. PS: Wavs are bigger and worse than MP3s in every conceivable way lol. -Insaniteus- |

Well i kind of figured that out already...the only reason i wanted to convert my mp3 file to a wav is because i can edit the Wav file and cut off the part of the song i am not using...so i wont have the entire song in the WE , i will only have the part i am using for my cinematic....i think i should have it now, i cut off the last half of the song and saved it ...now i will just try and convert it back to a mp3 and then reimport it into the WE.. i always thought Wav was smaller then mp3 for some reason thx alot for the info...if i get it right i will be giving out my cinematic preveiw later today.. thx again |

If you have SoundForge you can edit MP3s, which is what I use for all of my music needs. Also, could you provide the link to the site you got your converter, and can it convert wav to mp3? Well, I think SoundForge does that too! :D |

For all of your Sound file needs, download Goldwave! It converts filetypes, changes bitrates, allows superior sound editing, lets you save a specific part of a song as it's own seperate file, AND you can get it for free (although it harrasses you when you use it for too long, so close it a reopen after every edit). Remember, Goldwave is the future. PS: Yes I sound like a damn commercial, but I used to have like 4 sound programs and Goldwave does everything they did, only better lol. -Insaniteus- |

Hmm, I use EasyLame for my MP3s and WAVs. It is a very good freeware program and I love it because it is very easy to use and the results are very great, too. Download it! For good sounding 64 kbps MP3s use this preset line: --alt-preset cbr 128 -mm -b64 ~Buster |

I recommend getting GoldWave and RazorLAME for your editing and converting needs. They work great together and I've never had a problem. It's been a while, but I'm sure you can grab them both from here. www.goldwave.com |
