Guest | Your better then most people, but you should try mixing more terrains together of the same tileset... placing dots of same tiles in diffrent places make not look pretty. Also try to decorate all of your terrain, you have alot to learn young apprentice.... just look out for my maps, or check out my latest maps in my sig(links to em in sig) other then that goodjob... here is a sample of a highly detailed enviroment I made of one of my maps, just to give you some ideas:ggani: . |

Not to be an ***, but all except #4 i thought were pretty bad. That waterfall, coming over an edge? Dude, you can turn of water height resctrictions ya know. And the terrain seems to have little detail, with random crap everywere, not natural. |

Ok several things in reply to the replies. First off thanks for replying. 1. Screenshots taken from 3D apps mess up lighting and a lot of color. The waterfall looks good in the world editor. Didnt get transferred in the screenshot i suppose. 2. The overhead shot of your map is impressive, but I cant say its better than an overhead shot of one of my maps. I didnt provide an overhead shot, only certain camera positions to show what I can do. Terrain isnt supposed to be natural. Its not a playable map, its a simple map I threw together in order to find a team. I could polish it all and well but its only a 'first impression' idea. I wanted to get into a team as soon as possible. If you want more detailed screenshots, thats fine but Ill need some time to make them. |

but teams are usually looking for natural terrain, so, yeah. the number 3 terrain looks pretty screwed. water height is all messed up. the waterfall he mentioned looks really screwy. 4 is pretty good terrain is too flat overall |

The kind of flatness you would see when the author hasn't discovered the terrain height tool. ;) |

I'm sure they did, they're very thorough when it comes to interrogations. At any rate, I'm sorry if I misunderstand but I thought the idea of a 'professional portfolio' was to show your best work first, instead of just throwing together some stuff. I know you said that you just quickly want to get into a team but I'm almost positive you'll be snapped-up much faster with high-quality evidence of your skills. Not to say that some of your work isn't good. Number 4 is quite well done. I'm sorry I can't say the same for the rest but why put up semi-decent pictures? And why put them up before your good one? Common sense dictates you put your best one first and therefore people get interested, because the first one is what will influence whther or not the person can be bothered to click on the second one. Just some friendly advice champ :). ~kharma |

You are :) Thanks for the reply Kharma. Just got pissed off because last team I was with decided to cancel the project because they couldnt be bothered to finish the triggers, meaning all my 10 maps were thrown away. Thats why I want to get started again soon. But Ill make some better screenies and delete the first 3. |

Alright I took the time to make an Ice cliff. Please tell me an honest opinion on the looks. I think it looks good, but who am i. Note that there are still some transition bugs between the ice and the water, but I have to go to work in 10 minutes and would like to get it posted now. |
