Well, I decided to try to convert the Watcher skin to an assassin. I have the skintone about where I want it, I've added irises and pupils to the pure white eyes (which get on my nerves), and I've removed the mask. Wow, lo and behold, she's missing a strip of her forehead. Blizzard, why hast thou forsaken me?! Anyway, has anyone found a good solution to this? The "forehead transplants" I've been trying to slap on (using the mask) just don't look right no matter what I do, and it extends into the darkened eye area. I've tried of a variety of shades and I'm just too frustrated to continue working on it at the moment. The skin is basically just a recolor, but I've reshaded the face to some degree, added the eyes, alphaed out the weapon (or rather, had a friend do it for me so I could figure out how to alpha properly from his example), and extended the hairline. I plan on changing her clothing later, but not until this bloody forehead problem is fixed. If I HAVE to, I can always slap the mask back on, but I'd really rather not. I realize that the cut for the "transplant" isn't quite perfect, but I was more concerned with the shading at the time. That crease in the middle really bothers me. Here's a screenshot: Here's the actual blp: The Assassin (so far) I figure if you don't know what to do with a .blp, you're probably not going to be of much help, so I'm not going to bother putting up the tga. Thanks in advance for any help I get. Edit: Annnnd I just realized that I posted this in the wrong forum, since it's not technically a new skin for display. My apologies. :mtk: |

Unfortunately, you'll just have to bear with it. The watcher's a good model to skin, except for her stupid head. Try picking the skin tone just above the eyes, and paint that on the mask part. Now shade the 'mask face' accordingly, so you'll get reasonable results. |

Thanks guys, and I like your idea Mav. When I get done dinking with my barbarian skin I'll try doing the hair fringe thing. That might actually work. |

Well, actually, I'm making these for my own map. I might release them after the map itself is released, but that won't be until I get my hands on the TFT editor to add the last touches. Well.. I might consider releasing this one, since it's a decent fix for a problem that I'm sure many people have had :ggani:, and I'm not done with it... Hmm.. will have to think about it. In the meantime, I'll keep a copy of this version. |
