Two questions that have always perturbed me. Is there any way to import/export the unit stats of the cutom units. For me when I import/export it only changes the stats of the normal units. Secondly, Is there any way to create a custom unit off another custom unit. For example I have a group of say 30 fighters based off of a hero unit with a diffrent model and nearly every stat changed. I want 30 units all with the same everything but name and model. This would be much faster if I could duplicate the modified fighter and just change the model, and name. (note this isn't a real instance it's just a possible one to give you guys an idea of what exactly I mean. Any ideas on solving these mind bogglers? |

Ok first question: Yes you can import custom unit stats from one map to another. I've found that when you load a saved unit data file the custom units are added, but for some reason don't show up until you 'refresh' the unitdata screen. I do this just by having both maps open at once: load the data, switch windows to the other map, then switch back. It's quirksome but it works :). Second Question: As far as I know, no. I've wondered the same thing myself since it'd be pretty handy. ~kharma |

2) Not possible, due to how the custom units are defined (the war3map.w3u file stores only changes from the base unit, and the other custom unit which you would be defining it from isn't defined yet.) |

2) There is a unit editor in the downloads section here. I've never tried it but maybe it can. |

It's called W3U edit, it won't do what you want it to do. However when you change a value in W3U edit it doesn't lag for a few seconds. With this you can modify like 3 values in the amount of time WE takes to do 1. It's very convenient. |

Well thats helps I think. I'll have to double check when I get to my home computer. As for the second question, I didn't think anything short of editing the mpq would work but it was worth a shot. Also I'll have to give that unit editing program a shot, that little 3-5 second delay can be overly annoying when doing mass editing. Appreciate the input guys. |

So that little quirky method worked perfectly. Definetly a little unorthadox but I'm glad to have that mystery solved. Wonder if they'll fix it in the exp pac. Well with alittle help I managed to do what was needed about 50 times easier. Thanks guys. |

Where can I get W3U? It doesn't exist in the downloads section. |
