How do you use an MPQ program?

What is the name of a good, easy to use, MPQ program? Where can I get it? How do I use it?

In my opinion winmpq is the best. You can download it in the downloads section > tools.

To use it you need to install VB runtime files (also in DL section) then run it and open the war3.mpq. From there you can extract any files you want.

To include files into a map, close the map in the editor and open it in winmpq. Then select the edit > add option and select the files. When it prompts you for a location, enter the folder set that the file was located in. For example humanabilitystrings.txt is in Units/ so you type units/

Remember if you open the map in the editior it will remove all attached files.

Also remember that if you are changing a file in the war3.mpq BACK IT UP, so you dont have to reinstall to get it back.
Also check that the file hasn't already been updated in the war3patch.mpq
