Mdx -> Obj conversion problems... Kinda Fixed

Now I've spent some hours taking apart the .mdx file format (while looking at the source of the warcarft3modelviewer by Darkyoda)

And I am quite confident I've gotten it.

With UV coordinates this time, BUT I can't seem to properly load a texture onto it with 3ds 4.2. It's complaining 'bout the uv's... :(

I would like you to test it too! If it somehow does work, don't forget to tell me :)

&
I've attatched it!

I've posted the file (footman.zip) which contains three formats:

-.obj
-.3ds
-.dxf

I've created the .obj file myself and then converted it with crossroads (downloadable ... don't have url at the moment) to the .3ds & .dxf files.

When I try to open either of these in 3ds 4.2 the geometry loads nicely, but the texture-coordinates just won't...

Hope we can get finally get it... ;)

Note: If you open the .obj file with notepad you can see the uv coordinates, it just isn't fair!

Nope dont see them i openes the *.obj and the *.dxf in maya and didnt see any textures. Then i opened the *.3ds and the *.dfx with max and still no textures. The footman is really low poly too i thought they would be a little higher.
Anyway i posted a pic but it dont matter.

Right is the *.3ds left is the *.dfx

Yeah... got the .obj file to work, had my f-numbers screwed for anything but group 0 :(

(now the texture coordinates don't seem to be perfect yet, but I'll get there!)

The example is updated on www.geocities.com/djbnjack

Get the footman.zip file (contains the .obj file, the textures and the .max file, the .obj file is so you can do it yourself, the .max file is totally finished... well, kinda )

And look at the great screeny.jpg ;)

That's great work, but do you know where are the animations? caus the footman just stand there and dont move. And are you also able to put it back in the game?
