Hey
I'm new to trying to reskin stuff in Warcraft and was wondering if there was any way to use my Photoshop Elements. According to a friend if you use it, it messes up the alpha chanels which isn't a good thing he said. I am totally new to the skinning sceen and i have 0 expierience with skinning but i can use Elements to some extent. Is there some kind of patch or update that i need to get before i can get the program to be able to skin or will i have to learn to use a different program?

Also i know this will be answered in other posts but what programs are needed to extract and import skins and are there any instructions on how somewhere? ( I would be happy with recieving a link or something like that )

Thx:D
A totally unskilled , but wants to get better skinner

I don't know anything about that program (well, I know that it exists and that it is from Adobe). But if your friend says, that it messes up the Alpha channels, then it isn't a good choice as alpha channels are essential for Warcraft III skinning.

I don't see how Adobe would let Photoshop Elements mess up alpha channels... Try it, and if your skin turns out ****ed up, then you probably need Photoshop 7 instead.

It also seems weird to me, but if his friend says it (to me it seemed that his friend knows what he says).

Well i notices something weird these times, now i got Photoshop 7 (had 6 before). When i open the skin tga, extracted from the mpq, it has no alpha channels, but instead of that it converts alpha to transparencies. So it deletes alphaed parts. That sucks a lot, since you can't just change the tranparency level as before, that had a "Alpha 1" channel with the basic RGB ones, as on photoshop 6. If someone knows how (if i'm able to) can i change to the old style way?
