how do i edit the marin model? it has team colors all around it, shoulders, torso, helmet, shins, every were. i skined it to look kinda like the guy fom Halo. with the green suit. i did it and i think that it looks pretty good exept when it is ingame its just red and black. the red is the team color spots. i looked at a couple tuts but i didnt really understand them, and some were for PSP. BTW im useing PS 7.0

Hey, that actually looks pretty good. I'd help you, but I use PSP, not PS. I know there are a few tutorials up on alpha editing, and if nothing else, you can search the forums for them. I believe PencilGod has given a few helpful mini-tutorials and/or links (But don't bug him with PMs). Basically, you'll just want to remove all alphaing in the areas with team colors. Sorry not to be of any more help.

just looks like a filter to me...

mask>load from alpha channel>alpha1 load

then, view mask
then edit mask

goto the spray\air brush, set its hardness and density to 100, size... anything

and remove the team color on the unit

then goto mask>save mask to alpha channel>save it over alpha 1

then save your skin *cough* filter*

There should be a "Channels" tab in the layers window. That lets you view/select the different color channels in the pic, including Alpha channels.

Yes, it should be at the bottom of that list of color channels.

r u talking about photoshop or paintshop pro?

Photoshop.

It should have alpha channels listed with the color channels, unless perhaps you switched the skin to a format that doesn't support alpha channels, but i haven't run into that kind of situation with skins.

I'm using 6.0, but it still should be there in the skin no matter what version you use to edit it.

It's sad, Utsanomiko, but i've changed to PS7 last for some days and just discovered it converts alpha channel to transparency, so there's no Alpha 1 channel to edit... this sucks a lot, and it ****us up skinning... i'll ask Pgod if ther's any way to make it behave like PS6.

Interesting.

Well, other than WC3, I've never bothered with the channels, so It's not my field of expertise.

I think you have to download an update on the adobe site. It works fine for me. I never tried skinning before the upgrade, because I heard of the problem before.
