I have made a spell like Warden Blink (TFT) with custom triggers in W3 original.
Take a look please and send comments...

wow! you've accomplished what I couldn't! I have been trying to do this a LOT, can you tell me how you would add this to a hero from another map?

Use a MPQ Extractor and take out AbilityData.slk and txt files from my map.
Then copy and paste in your files. Open my map with WE...Copy and paste trigger "Blink" in your map.
You can modify special effects, icons, etc...but please, don't cut credits...thanks...

well done, that's pretty impressive...

I have a question though... I copied and pasted your AbilityData.slk and txt files into a map of mine as well as copied and pasted the trigger, but how do i give this ability to another hero? The only way I could get it to work was by also importing all of the Unit data from your map into a pre-existing map. This of course wiped out all of my custom unit info.

I look in the hero ability list and it's not in there anywhere (not under hero, unit, or items, under the heading Blink or Unknown (AXbl) either). What exactly am I doing wrong here? I know that when I open WE and try to save it's going to wipe out the slk and txt files, but I just can't figure out a way to save my custom units AND give this ability to another hero besides the one you gave it to. Thanks for any help!

Ok i try to explain how to implement this spell in your map

1. Extract AbilityData.slk and txt files from my map.

2. Open with Excel my AbilityData.slk and YOUR AbilityData.slk and then copy from my file the first row where you found "Blink" with code AXbl. Now go to your Abilitydata.slk and paste...Slk work done!

3. Same procedure for txt files...Open my files and your correspondant and go with copy and paste.

4. Under your Warcraft directory you must create a Units\ directory and copy inside YOUR modified files. (Abilitydata.slk and txt files)

5. Launch WE and open your map; Load my map (Blink.w3m).

6. Copy and paste Blink trigger in your map.

7. In the Hero Ability list now you can found "Blink", well assign to your hero.

8. Save & Close your map... with WinMPQ insert YOUR AbilityData.slk and txt files in your map.

9. Play your Map...:D

I tried to make a Unit\ file already after reading the Tutorial for making new spells, it says cannot have the follow character in file name /'\*?! etc. so what do I do?

you must create a directory with name UNITS.
"\" isn't needed

lol i did my blink spell without jass =P
based it on sentry ward, made it summon a unti with no shadow, and no model, with a range of 999999 and a dur of 0(infinit) then when spell is cast, move unit-ordering unit instantly to point of last created unit, kill last created unti.

Jass isn't a requisite for this spell.
It's only more confortable to me.

i understand you bases of the trigger to create the blink spell but what keeps frustrating me is how the trigger knows what spell your casting.

ie when i do the trigger condition

Issued Order equal to Order(Bnk1) nothing happens.
Bnk1 is the spell id i used when creating the spell.
what needs to go in the Order() to make it work? thanks...

it doesnt detect the spell. it detects what gets summoned. he based it on the sentry ward spell and edited it. so when the ward gets summoned, it gets removed and sfx gets cast and unit gets moved to the point of the summoned unit.

unit: move [orderd unit] to move instantly to location of [last created unit]
unit: remove [last created unit]


i have spetial effects in there too
