Is it possible with some tool other than standard WE to scale the size of a doodad as much as I want? And if this is possible, is it also possible to do this and keep the map still melee? |

edited doodad sizes require an modified and imported Doodad.slk into the map. the map would still be considered a melee map. You dont need any special programs except a SLK editor and a MPQ program. If you open up the doodad.slk you will find 2 scaling col's, a min and a max, edit those values and you can scale them to the max or min of the new size |

I tried it, but yet without success. This is my first time doing something like this, so any help in finding my mistake is strongly appreciated. Here is what I've done: I exported the Doodads.slk from my war3patch.mpq using WinMPQ. I opened it with notepad and saw that line: C;X14;K"maxScale"; so I substituted every line saying C;X14;K1.2 with this one: C;X14;K1.6 to be able to scale doodads up not only to 120 but to 160 percent. I saved this new doodads.slk and imported it into my map using WinMPQ again, using the path it also had in my mpq-file (Doodads\Doodads.slk). Then I opened the map in Worldedit and tried to scale up my doodads above 120 % but it didn't work. I attached my test map in case someone wants to have a look at it. |

imported files in the w3m do not work in the world editor, and when you save it will erase the changes. Put the files in: C:\(path to warcraft)\Warcraft III\Doodads\ then reopen the world editor, and the new file will be read in, only when you are ready to play, does the file get imported into your w3m file |
