Is there any specific reason that I can't give a custom skin/model it's own directory? In Cookie's Tutorial, is there any reason he couldn't make a new folder: units\Orc\Witchdoctop\ And put all his Witchdoctop files in there, while specifying the new path in the MDX files, and of course, in the editor? BECAUSE... For some reason, my custom skins are being used instead of the default model skins. For instance, I have the following files sitting, extracted, but completely unmodified: units\Creeps\DarkTroll\DarkTroll.blp units\Creeps\DarkTroll\DarkTroll.tga units\Creeps\DarkTroll\DarkTroll.mdx units\Creeps\DarkTroll\DarkTroll_portrait.mdx and my edits: units\Creeps\DarkTroll\ZedkTroll.blp units\Creeps\DarkTroll\ZedkTroll.tga units\Creeps\DarkTroll\ZedkTroll.mdx units\Creeps\DarkTroll\ZedkTroll_portrait.mdx And for some ungodly reason, the World Editor uses the ZedkTroll model/skin INSTEAD of the DarkTroll model/skin. That is, the Model entry SPECIFIES the DarkTroll stuff, but is clearly using the ZedkTroll stuff instead. It boggles my mind. So is there any reason I can't use: units\Creeps\ZedkTroll\ ....for all my edits, as long as all the filepaths match up correctly? |

Guest | you can try but the mdx is a bit prone to corrupting so you must be carefull wit hthat =) be sure to ahve removed the stuff referring to the dark troll there can be tons things that can cause this so taking a look closer to it (post files in zip) would maybe help |
