Changing projectile art with items?

I was wondering if it would be possible to change a unit's (hero specifically) projectile art with different items. A ranged unit that picks up an orb of fire shoots a fireball for example. How exactly could I do this without replacing the hero with a clone that had a different projectile art type?

Thanks in advance if you help.

Itemabilityfunc.txt. Get it, and edit the missle art of the item you want. If it doesnt have a missle art, add Missleart= . You can add misslearc= to give it different arcs. Kinda cool actually.

Thanks. I'm still running into a bit of trouble though. As far as I can tell this is probably one of those things that Wc3 won't bend for and I'll have to end up dropping the idea, but it's worth asking anyways.

What I'm trying to do is have a Hero using the SC Marine model be able to use different weapons. I figured I could accomplish this since the orb of fire applies an effect similar to what I could use. Unfortunately whenever I change the projectile art on my marine he still shoots his rifle first. I was trying to make a flamethrower like the one the Chaos Orc (Flamebat) had so I made my item give the same projectile art.

I tried setting my hero to the same exact specifications as the firebat but he still doesn't shoot a flamethrower. This was after much frustration on why the item wasn't making it work. Does this mean that certain units' projectile art can only be used on that type of unit?

The second best thing would simply be able to remove the marine's rifle animation so I could at least equip projectiles that would work, such as a mortarshell (for grenade launcher). Is this possible? If it requires animation editing is that a possibility and if so where can I find a guide on it?

It's a shame Blizzard put a cap on our creativity! Thanks if you reply. :)
