Ive got a problem, i want a custom unit of mine (a hero) to have the druid of the claw (bear form) model. Ive given him the exact same name and models as the normal dotc model inculding the alternetex thing and the editor suffix, how do i fix this? |

I dont think you can, but giving him bearform ability might help. |

What im trying to do is give a hero the bear form ability, but i think i might end up basing it on avatar or demon form, but the damn unit its turning into (a hero) wont let me give it a dotc (bear form) model, surely there is a way to make this work, as i think ive seen a bear form hero in a hero arena or something..... Also another question; how do i make a hero have the cyclone model? Ive seen it done in wanderers of sorceria and in the keys of sealing, do i have to change the model path? or use a trigger? |

Look for the action in the trigger editor that has somethign to do with animation tags, either under A for animation or U for units and add the alternex or whatever the tag is from there. It should work. |

Right, what FyreDaug said basically. Animation- Add/Remove animation tag then set the tag name as alternate. You can't use the bear form ability on heroes because it basically messes up lots of things. |

Sorry im like the uber trigger noob (havent done anything past setting quests, and displaying text etc). What ive gathered is: Animation-Add/remove unit animation tag Add the gold animation tag to unit Do i set the unit as the dotc (bear form) or the dotc (night elf form)? Ive set the middle string as alternate as you said, and left the starting string as add. Ive tried this trigger with both heroes, and in both cases the model stayed the same. Have i got the trigger right, or is the problem in the unit editor or something. btw, im assuming your answered my question with the hero using bear form, not avatar or demon form. What i have tried doing is giving my hero avatar and demon form, demon form doesnt work, the unit turns invisible. Avatar works to an extent, but the for khaz modan and the puffy up bit dont really fit well. Is there anyway of getting rid of thoose? Thanks for the help |

You add the alternate or alternatex whichever tag is on the DOTC to your hero. |

Avatar shouldn't casuse problems except things like an unwanted effect such as the "For Khaz Modan!" and the puffyness. It works fine because it isn't actually turning into another unit, just boosting the current unit. Storm crow form, crow form, and bear form all will not work as you want it to, and I think the only problem with the demon form is that when you turn into something and the unit is selected then the portrait won't change. Adding the "alternate" unit tag should work for all of the units you wanted to change though. To see what tag is needed, select the unit in the editor and look through the animations. If it has something like "Alternate Stand" then the tag is going to be the thing put in front. Since it isn't working, check your spelling and make sure you are telling it to change the right unit. I don't see why it wouldn't work. |

Ah, thanks now ive got it working. 1 more quick question, is it possible to modify the bear form spell so that my hero using the modified spell turns into the hero version of the dotc (bear form) unit instead of the normal unit? |
