Has anyone used any ramps yet they seam to do nothing but mess up. They sometimes act correctly but are not acctually on the map correctly. When i place them in the world editor i get them to look right then i check the game and the ramp appears over the ground or the units dissappear at one end then reappear at the other. I just need to find out how to set them correctly if you know how to do this please help.

Many people experience trouble with ramps.. that's why I never use them. However, if you actually dare using ramps.... this trick might help:
select the ramp with the doodad pallete. Hold controll down, and press Page Up and Page Down to move the ramp up and down. I tried that with bridges and for the first time they really show up correctly in the game.
But really, whenever you can, avoid them!! :)

Ramps *are* tricky terrain objects to implement. They require that the border you're "ramping" is relatively straight for the duration of the ramp (nobody really wants a ramp that's 1-square wide as a lot of units wouldn't fit on it). So first off - make sure that the edge doesn't have a ton of curves on it and that the ground on either side is clear.

You will also want to check the tiles...WC3 is a pain sometimes when it comes to dirt cliff / grass cliff differences and all that sort of stuff. It's not so easy to join the two - they keep trying to "run away from" each other, if you know what i mean. If you don't, then try to run a dirt cliff into a grass cliff sometime and watch the grass cliff run away :)

The second thing you'll want to do is turn on the grid and pathing so that you can see if the ramp will actually work. Without these things on you may go to try and test your map and find that it won't work.

It takes some finessing...but ramps aren't all that difficult once you get used to them.

Just use the Ramp brush in the Cliff section of the terrain palette... I've never had problems with the generic ramps.
