New Mod, will need help soon!

A few friends and I are beginning work on a new mod. Much like the New Race Mod, this mod will replace the standard four races with new ones. We will not be actually having assignments for a week or two yet, but I am posting now to get a head start on collecting members. I will explain the mod a little.

The humans will be changed into the Goblins. Everybody loves goblins. This race will be a great chance to make some awesome technological units. Any ideas for this race would be appreciated.

The orcs will be replaced by The Earth Mother. (You know, the Tauren god) I love Tauren. I don't know why anyone wouldn't. We have a few awesome ideas for this race, some of which will be very hard to realize, but worth it.

The night elves will be replaced by The Black Forest (We need a new name for this race) This race is basically all manner of evil forest creatures. It will have werewolves, huorns, and much more. We need more ideas for this race, too.

Finally, the undead will be replaced by the Nerubians. An insect race would be truly awesome, would it not? Another race where more ideas would be appreciated.


So... I hope that's interesting. For this project, we will be needing people of all manner of talents. We need skinners, modelers, triggers, and terrainers. However, as I said earlier, we will have any assignments for a week or two. The only help we need right now is conceptual help. So... Just to kindof elaborate on some of our concepts for each race:

Goblins: One of the goblin heroes will be the artillery. This hero will be slow, and have huge range, but be physically weak. We have a few spell ideas laid out for this hero, which are still subject to change.

Power Shot: Fires a powerful shell at a group of enemy soldiers, dealing splash damage from a huge range.

Repair: Repairs mechanical units and structures. Each level lowers the cost. (Autocast)

Bombard: Hails a shower of explosives on an area, dealing high damage to buildings and troops.

Detonate: Destroys the hero, but also destroys nearly everything around it. Huge damage, but buildings have a high reduction. (So you can't just drive in and blow up their farms, etc.)

The Tauren Shaman is one of our projected heroes for the Earth Mother. This fellow would be durable, but based on magic.

The Earth Mother's Blessing - Restores high amounts of HP and Mana to nearby friendly units. Does not heal the Shaman.

Drought - Parches an area, dealing continual damage to biological units that move through it. A channeling spell, the Shaman cannot move while using this spell.

The Earth Mother's Request - Drains the mana of all enemy units around the Shaman, and tributes it to the Earth Mother. Each level increases radius and mana drained.

The Earth Mother's Power - Creates tremendous fissures in the ground, stunning enemy units and releasing 10 golems to aid the Shaman in battle.

The Black Forest: We really don't know well how this race will be, but we've thought to a degree what one of the heroes will be like. The Huorn Commander is an evil tree hero, with the following spells.

Treeish - Allows the Huorn to go treeish, making it immobile and next-to-incapable to attack, but granting additional HP, armor, and HP regeneration.

Eyes of the Forest - Plants a magical tree, indiscernable from regular trees, and capable of granting certain benefits on allied units. Benefits increase with level. (ie level 1 has a mana-regeneration spell, level 2 has that and a healing spell, and level 3 has both of the previous spells, and an inner-fire like spell)

Cellulose Fists - Essentially Pulverize, gives a chance for the Huorn Commander to do increased damage, and do it to all nearby units.

? - We need an ultimate. Any ideas?

Finally, the Nerubians. My favorite hero for them is the Nerubian Queen. (New name needed) Her spells are thusly:

Colonize - Quickly, for low cost, infests a gold mine for the nerubians to use. This will either cost gold and wood to cast, or will be only a temporary expansion.

Pheromone - A 2 part spell, this will, when cast on a friendly unit, increase the unit's attack and attack speed. When cast on an enemy, the enemy will change to nuetral hostile temporarily.

Lay (New name needed) - Creates an egg, which will sit in wait for an enemy to come near it, then explode violently, dealing damage and releasing a myriad of spiders to attack the enemy.

Binary Fission - The Queen will give birth to a spider, which will continuously lose health. When the spider dies, two spiders will emerge from its carcass. Each of these spiders will continually lose health, until they, too, die, releasing 2 more, each. Therefore, in just a few generations, you can have a multitude of splitting spiders.
