This is an advanced melee: Desolace Elite V1 - 3 new Heroes per race - 11 new units per race - 1 new General per race - Balanced - Completely new and original map to play it on - readme listing all changes Generals are unique units that greatly enhance one's army. But there's a small problem with the terrain. The messy arrangement of trees made my army stuck in a very wierd position that confuses the pathfinding script. Units do not know how to get out from that arrangement. Perhaps make the areas more open. |

Hmm.. well If this map is not your style I have another one with the new units, I am making that is much more open :). In the meantime I need some feedback on the unit balance. You'd think that because over 500 people have the map, I would get some, but the only feedback I got was on the first thread I started on this site. You can always just open the map and export the units and slap them in another map. |

Well, If someone else moved it I would be quite unhappy as I protected the map, so no one could just put it on their own map and call it their own, especially after all the work we did to make it. And the reason I just don't slap it on another map, is I want it to have completely new terrain to play on... not just the boring always played Blizzard maps. |

My opinions on the humans were stated in your previous thread about this map. I shall repeat: 1) I think the Quel'Dorei swordsmen makes the footmen obsolete. I saw completely no need to produce any more footment once I had them. I think all units should still have a purpose be it early or late game. 2) There are too many human air units. This makes human very powerful in air. Thats all I can say now because I haven't played much of humans |

Testers needed... I know this map cannot be perfect, so if anyone could be a great help and tell me what you think is good... needs improvement or is imbalanced, please post. Undead Feedback needed most, than Human and Orc. Night Elves also need feedback. All suggestions are taken in and if you provide good feedback, you will be ackknowledged in map. well, im sure that if u didnt plan on doing this before, ur not going to do it now. But every mod (this is basically a mod) needs some mpq editing. Dont just give the general normal spells, make him some cool spells. Also, try to add in new skins nd stuff. I think the map will be much succesful with that. Also, the map that its on really isnt that good and seems as though it was made by a newb terrainer |

Hmm. this was discussed on another thread sir... New spells and stuff are on their way... along with a new map.. If you think Desolace was made by a newb terrainer.. Keep it to yourself.. it's alot better than some of the maps out there, not that it doesn't have its problems. Alot of people out there are used to Blizzard-esque maps.. this was something unique for a melee map.. doesn't mean its noobish, unless you define "noobish" and prove me wrong. Anyways, the new map is more conformist/blizzard-like, so people will probably like it more. Thanks for your input, although it was already brought up. New stuff is going to be added. We originally didn't because we were waiting for FT, for more base spells to use.. But enough people commented that we are adding in custom spells, so more people will try and test the main thing we want tested and that is unit balance. Fiery_Maelstrom |

well, blizzards map allows for different strategies because ofthe layout of it. the one that ur mod is based off of has only one entrace per base and doesnt look like it took a lot of time. Also, starting them off with 2 goldmines severely knocks out the need to expand. The bases are so narrow that air units could easily hammer a base from out of reach. |

Guest | You're right, as well as wrong. You're right about the one entrance and the simplicity of the layout. But you are wrong about the haste put into the terrain. Fiery, Laevatienn, PureChaos, and myself have gone through countless hours of debugging terrain and creep bugs. As for starting out with two mines, it doesn't really knock out the need to expand, the second mine's gold was severely decreased, as computer players needed more than 12500 in their first one before they expand. And you are right about the air unit hammering, I'm sure you'll enjoy the next map to be released with Fiery's unit mod3 (custom spells). It's much more open, and on a different tileset. We're still in the debugging and terrain finishing steps so please be patient. -Riven |

Guest | Hehehehe, Believe it or not, we aren't done. Not until a little bit after Frozen Throne comes out ( so we can use the spell editor ). Although currently Fiery and I are just about done the temporary new spells. He's learning JASS coding and trigger spells but those won't be out for awhile (private balanced between: Fiery, Laevatienn, PureChaos, and myself). We'll keep you updated.
