The Dark Kindred

A long time ago, a small group of elves learnt the arts of darkness and were banished. Thus, they have chosen the caverns under Grimspire Mountain to continue their dark studies for thousands of years, preparing their forces for vengeance against the surface dwellers. A group of heroes, hearing of evil under Grimspire, have went there to investigate...

Enemies:
Dark Elves- Users of dark magic, they have a hatred for the elves who banished them thousands of years ago.
Shadow Trolls- Enslaved by the elves when they set foot into the caverns, they live only to serve their dark masters.
Spiders- Magically enhanced spiders are used by the Dark Elves as familiars.
Satyrs- A race of dark beings which the Dark Elves have created by magic.

Very good story line, id like to hear more on this at a later date.

An interesting idea, but I just see a few discrepancies with existing background (I dunno whether that's a problem for you or not).

1) The Dark Elves' premise sounds just like the High Elves' premise.

2) The Satyrs ARE demon-worshipping Night Elves.

3) Um... I like Dark Trolls?

Dark trolls?... that sounds good but i kind of don't like either. although i have no ideas for the name, there must be a name that would sound better.

Well good but one thing, you say a long time ago meaning before warcraft 3 timeline, however if thes elve learned the arts of darkness wouldn't most of the elves stay that way. what im saying is that in the warcraft 3 timeline elves dont fight elves. so how would you work your way around this?

It is a fairly good idea, but I think it'll get too similar and confusing with the other three elves out there (Night, High and Satyr).

How about some dark dwarf's? Surely Ironforge has had some split within their ranks over the years.
The Warhammer universe had Chaos Dwarf's (An entire race dependent and based around using slaves) and Warlords 3 had Dark Dwarf's.
I think that could work in WC3 (seeing as it uses cliches and ideas from other settings, but to good effect :D ).

Course, at the time, I thought he was using the existing Dark Trolls, and when I read it again, I didn't feel like editing my post.

Jeebus, it wasnt meant to be set in the WC world. Twas meant to be an original map set in a nameless world.
Btw im so busy with my daily life that i barely have time to play WC3 so sadly, I cant create my map.

If you want it to be related to warcraft, you could have it that the dark elves are evolved elves or mutated elves, etc. I agree with the different world, though, since it will be something "different".
