Guest | Would it be possible at all to create a new race without replacing an old one? If you were to create a new directory in war3.mpq and edit the warcraft code accordingly to support new races in regular non-campaign games (possibly having to reprogram the scroll bars), anyone know if would it work? |

Guest | sorry, I meant pull down menus (the ones you use to choose your race with during custom games) |

Its rather difficulty and much work so we just replace the old ones. But I think the results is good either way ![]() |

to make additional races ONTOP of the default races (ie: more than 4 races) would be very difficult.....but don't forget.....it's not that it's difficult that it is impossible..........so....beware....... ![]() |

Guest | Perhaps if the changes were in the form of a patch, you wouldn't have to edit the files that were already inside war3.mpq, and you could edit the source code by copying the files and editing the changes inside a seperate file. But the big question is if Warcraft can actually support more than 4 races at all.... |

it better! or else the NRM staff will MAKE war3 support it . Well i hope it does. |

To make that work you'd have to change the very Warcraft III game code. It's much easier to do a map specific race, but that doesn't work for a mod either (unless you modify every single map to support your race), so the only thing remaining is to overwrite the existing four races. |

Actually you can add More than 4 races, but ya need pop up menus ingame,Demon Craft for example used this technique(the maker modified jass files). |
