1. Just wanted to know what you guys would think of an RPG that let you choose 2 Abilities? Your 4 Normal spells (which are new custom spells for the most art) would be there but as you all know theres 2 extra empty black boxes above those spells. Sometimes they have abilities and sometimes they dont. What would you guys think about giving a player multiple choices and letting them select their own abilities there for more customization.

2. What would you think about Items that changed the Skin of the hero (only select Items)

3. How about personal quests that can only be quested for by a specific hero, such as imbuing your weapon with more powers.

ive got the entire storyline set, got the heroes set, spells ready, most the ideas and some of the terrain decided on. I havnt actually started working yet but I wanted to get some feedback and any other sugestions from you guys about what you would like to see, what you wouldnt, and any other good ideas from you guys. I dont think im going to look for much help on this (although I probably will post questions about more advanced triggers here) except maybe an advanced trigger person and maybe a terrain artist. If your up for any of that or want to know more about the heroes themselves and how they get tossed into the mix PM me and Ill give you some backround. Oh I also have not yet decided on names for the heroes... any ideas on those would be appreicated as well

I've thought about doing all of these for the DCM, a few of them are possible to some extent, listen up.

1) Cannot be currently done, as you can not add skills to heroes, you would have to have them all on the hero at one time and disable the unused ones. The DCM has a long workaround with this, using 8 abilities.
2) Can be done, however each change you want done to the skin will have to be through special effects, using a model to overlap the unit. It wouldn't give a very good effect, not worth the time and effort.
3) Easily done if you have lots of time and dedication, also another idea to think about that is included in the DCM is the ability to choose a quest item, you can create it. 4 different categories with 3 items in each, you can only select 1 out of each category, and it will create the item for you.

Actually I got the change of skin to work with the item. Think Avatar, it just changes the skin nothing else. As for the abilities Im pretty sure ive seen the triggers to add abilities, might have been with an enhanced WE though not sure. as for 3, say you find a bow. There would be many other quests you could go on to make the bow more powerful. Such as you start with a bow that adds a little damage. Quest a bit and it adds more or gets some other ability.

Why not make it diablo like? When you find new items, you can replace your sword ect ect. You shouldn't have any attack att all without any items. The item tool-bar should have the Diablo style info. You know what I mean ;). Also should be a stash to store all the things you don't need ATM, since you can only carry 6 items on you. Maybe make a bind to heal-potions that are stored in a boolean trigger or someting. As well as items should be stored in a boolean kind of trigger.

Anyhow, I wish you good luck on your map.

There is no way to add abilities. The closest you have is Hero-Learn Skill, which only works if thehero has at least one skill point remaining and the hero can learn that skill already.

hince me saying the closest you have. There is no way to add any ability of any kind to a unit through triggers. I just stated the closest thing you could do.

For more spells you could always make a replica of the Hero, but with more/different abilities.

One of the Original abilities would be to look at more spells, or use a text command for it to work.

Then you would use triggers to pause the game or a similar effect, and have the Duped Hero fly over the head of your original hero.

It should work.
