Staff Renovations have Started!!

NOTE: To keep your job you MUST re-apply.

In the ongoing renovations of wc3campaigns we have finally come to staff renovations.
To simplify things... ALL staff except for a few admins (required to do all the work), will be 'losing' there staff positions.
The reason for this is two-fold.
1: To remove all 'dead weight', mods from days gone by that are no longer with us etc.
2: It's easier this way.
You will all be required to re-apply for your staff positions.
Some will not be getting back their status, there just aren't enough jobs for all.
The good news is that it's an opportunity for some people to move up, especially into moderator.
Of course, there will be no JUMPING ranks. So don't expect supermod unless you're already a mod etc.

So here's what you need to do to appy/reapply:
Write up a list of:
Your accomplishments war3 modding related
Your activities on the forums(examples of threads a plus)
Why you feel you would make a good moderator or supermoderator or admin (whichever applies)
What you feel you would be able to contribute with a staff position
How well do you get along with other forum members and why
What have you done for wc3c or which projects/tools have you FINISHED

Email all that to [email protected]

Applications will be left open one week. (Though later applications may be accepted for someone on vacation or such).
All decisions will be made by a panel of at LEAST 3 admins so as to avoid any favoritism.

Admin jobs:
Forum administration: adding, deleting, setting access to forums etc (minimum 2 required)

Abuse monitoring: routinely scanning all posts by abusers and restricting access and recommending banning (1 or 2)

User needs: name, title changes etc (1 or 2)

Tutorial management: uploading, organizing, and maintaining tutorial center to include advertising, and transferring ones from the forums (1 or 2)

Public Relations: Making contacts with other sites in the Wc3 community, arranging news posts on other sites, and taking requests from those sites to post news at wc3campaigns.

Server Administrator: Installs news software on server, patchs security holes, backsup site and database. (Job taken by StonedStoopid)

SuperMod jobs:
Group management... monitoring all mods within the forum group (1 supermod for every 3 forums)
To include...verifying activity by assigned mods, reporting to admins any mods not doing job or being abusive Forwarding reported user abuse to flame archives for possible further action
Generate interest in your forum group through promotion within the forums etc

Download center management: uploading, organizing, and maintaining download center (1 or 2)

News Poster... post relevant news items on main page

Moderator jobs:
Forum moderation... monitor ALL threads within assigned forum
attempt to quelch flames and spam through diplomacy, thread closing, and deletions
report repeat offenders to group SuperMod
generate interest in your assigned forums through promotion within the forum and elsewhere (even irc)

wc3campaigns Staff Guidelines:

The appointing of any supermod requires the approval of at least 3 admins

The appointing of any admin requires the approval of at least 3 admins PLUS either Ganon or StonedStoopid

Banning requires the approval of at least 3 admins

Insulting, flaming, or otherwise demeaning of other staff OR members will NOT be tolerated. Treat others as you would expect to be treated.

At last, a staff checkup!
Well, I don't think I have done anything revolutionary to the community to deserve a mod status (yet), although I help a lot of people at the cinematics forum!
But I think there are a lot more people out there that deserve it much more then me!

I feel I should be a moderator of the concept art forum or the off topic forum

Why:

-I have finished many pieces of art

-I believe I am fairly good at drawing

-I take criticsm well and make good crits, not ones made to put someone down

-I fell everyone should give a try to art, it's a good thing to get good at, if ur not good at much

-I am a forum regular

-I like to help people with stuff, I have a lot of knowledge about this forum's history

-I visit this forum as much as i can, I talk here more than playing wc3 :)

-I lead a project, Tale of the Bellmaker, that has gotten a lot of progress. (hosted at brokenedge.net)

-I can get along with people

- like to clear up fights and stuff, though I can't do much about it

-Like to make fun stuff (just look at the success of my wedding thread in the off topic place)

-i can spell edit, terrrain, and draw overall pretty good

-Have helped beta test FoK(BTW, I wonder when I can start testing again)

-I am an administrator at Nuladions site, helped improve it and am a moderator for my project forum at BE, and made good progress

-Made a Blizzard game dedicated site (www.voiceclan.tk)


i feel if I am a moderator, I can clear up fights and clean this place of flaming and spam. I feel if I earn this responsibility, I will use my power fairly and responsibly.

Just to clear something up here that was brought up in IRC.

The reason we're clearing all positions first is not to make this some sort of inquisition. We merely don't want to have to wade through tons of threads to see what people have done or not done. We need YOU to tell us that. Also, some people may not WANT to retain staff positions so they merely need not apply. We just want to make this as quick and painless as possible. So a page of information from you guys is not too much to ask to save us from weeks of wading. :D

It doesnt gotta be erased. He just means they aren't gonna use what they find on the forums as applications. Do it the right way if you really want a spot.
