My adventures with splat editing (here ) gave me a kind of neat idea. In theory, splats can be made using relatively large images. By editing ubersplatdata.slk, they can be scaled even larger. Splats, unlike models, will "hug" terrain (as seen in the pictures in that link), and will in essence, substitute for the tiles below them, giving you the ability to create custom "tiles" that are far larger than you'd normally be allowed to make. As far as I can tell, in almost all respect, these splats act *exactly* like tiles. It occurs to me that somebody with certain specific needs could turn any random image into a blp, make that a splat for a building, remove the model of the building itself, and "tile" these huge splats over their map for a look which is completely different than ny normal wc3 map. |

very nice discovery, be sure to remove pathing and collison from the building also |

Hmm, that's hella cool. I have ONE COOL TILE! Hahah, omg. I have the coolest tile ever. So, tell me, how exactly do you edit this? Because this is something I will surely use. |
