I want to implement mp3 files into multiplayer maps such as rpgs, without making them too large, or causing a rediculously long download. I've seen some maps where mp3 files are extremely small (ie: Princess Prophecy RPG has an mp3 of the "Loss of Me" song from FF9, and the size is abnormally small) Is there anyway you can compress it, and if so, can anyone tell me how? |

Like most forms of software, a smaller file size can be made at the expense of quality or integrity. For mp3's, this is the kbps (Kilbobyte per second I think). You can set it to as low as 32, but generally 128 is best. I'm not sure, but I think WC3 only allows 128 for mp3's. |

i've done this many times, its just a matter of the bitrate of the mp3s. U can use some of the tools to change the bitrate down to 64k or 48k, and the size will be reduced down. |

use awave audio from fmj-soft to convert your mp3 to 32kbps, or varaiable bit rate (if wc3 supports it) ps. i hope blizzard adds OGG support in TFT |
