i just found out that cinematics can be rewatched through replays. Everything is just the same in a replay as when it is run with the game. Does anyone know if there is any way to convert the .w3g formatted replays into .mov or something? If so i could make some really cool looking trailers.:ggani:

well, I dont think it's possible (right now)!
A replay still needs War3 installed to get all the models/skins/etc. These are not included in the replay! A .mov file would have to have all the models/skins/etc with it, elseit couldn't run properly... And I don't know of any way how to do this... :?

If I'm wrong, someone please tell me...!

PS: I do know of a program that 'captures' your screen in a movie: everything you do, from moving with the mouse to opening a program, is recorded in a video file until you hit the stop button!
You could put it on record, open up Warcraft3, run your trailer, close Warcraft3, click on stop, and then edit the video file so that you can only see the trailer (and not oyur desktop and the startup of Warcraft3, etc...)

Unfortunately, I don't know where you can download hte program, nor it's name... I only know that I read about it on a site a year ago!
I'll look for it when I come back from holiday (next Friday), maybe I have it on my computer somewhere...

Yea but running that program and war3 at the same time requires so much from your computer that everything will lag and the result sill be shitty.

No, i would save the replay and then run the replay and record it with the program.

I'm pretty sure in the WC3 Map Utilities (im pretty sure thats it) u can watch replays, in the program. So that could cut the lag by like....3/4?

its called Camtasia Recorder, which is from the same company that developed Snagit.

Well, I got a Pentium IV, 2.2 Ghz so I think I'll be able to run both of the programs without lag...

If you have a snazy [is't that a retarded work] video card like mine you could output to a DV cam and edit that and there would be 0 lag, and Nuladion, video @ 1024x768 has to faze just about every computer unless it has duel prossesors and 2 gigs of memory, but then I've never tryed it
