I was playing a map called Battle of the Order (BOTO) today and it had all new abilities for every hero. It was really cool. I want to see how the guy did it, but WorldEdit can't open the file. Does this mean that the map is locked? Or are there other warcraft map editors out there that create maps that can't be openned by WorldEdit? I'd really like to see how the guy made all those cool abilities, since I thought it was impossible to customize the game so much in a way that the map could still be played online without messing up your default warcraft MPQs. How do MPQs work? I thought the game maintained one large database of all the unit abilities and animations. Can they also be embedded in individual maps?! If it turns out that the map is locked (bastards!), do you guys know of a similar map that isn't? I'd like to learn how to do all neat stuff BOTO does. Thanks! |

Guest | Dude... go find some tutor on how to SPELL EDIT!! Yes... you can embed stuff into an individual map... The map is protected due to plagiarism and map theft... I myself would never post a map publicly without protecting it by using a 3rd party program... You can spell edit by using 3rd party programs or just the traditional txt edit and then import it into your map with a MPQ viewer |

if you were to open it in World Edit you wouldn't be able to see any of the changes as spell editing is done outside of WE , and if it were saved after opening it it would erase all the spells (so you should be thankfull its protected from opening). heres a link to a spell editing tutorial if you want to learn. http://www.wc3campaigns.com/sections...ticle&artid=10 |
